if you are middleweight you should be able to make 155-160, not fighting at the edge.. i just hope canelo or cotto pull the A side card with a rehydration clause 160. if you wanna fight for the middleweight title you gonna have to enter the ring as a middleweight.

You know Canelo enters the ring at 170 pounds or more right. It would hurt him. Do you know what Canelo would look like. Sure GGG would too, but where is the advantage.

Cotto may request rehydration, but GGG won't take it, and gets the WBC strap and Lineal anyways.

The 170 GGG comes into the ring at is as light as Canelo, Andrade, Lara all go into the JR.MW ring at.

The WBC is the organization that allowed Alvarez to hold its title at 154 for three years without fighting a mandatory opponent. It is also the same organization that is allowing Deontay Wilder to fight five voluntary defenses against club fighters before he fights his mandatory.

Anyone who thinks the WBC is going to strip Alvarez or Cotto, for that matter, for not fighting Golovkin or not fighting him at 160 is a fool. The WBC was literally begging Cotto and Alvarez to make the fight between each other. There is no way the WBC will allow a wannabe to dictate terms of a WBC title fight against their two biggest cash cows (now that Mayweather is retired).

Normally I would agree, but if that's the case, then they are making a mistake coming out in the press every other day claiming they will strip Canelo.

They said it yesterday, the day before and again today.

They also said Canelo signed a contract stating as much.

They pretty much have to.

GGG and Canelo both rehydrate into the 170 range. No CW is needed.

Ward rehydrated in the 180's, the CW makes more sense.

But if they were fighting for a SMW belt, I'd call bs.



However, it's a good thing GGG can walk away with the belts.
