So all it took for them to succeed was winning.

GGG is from a country(idk what country he is from) where there is not of whole lot of them here in the US. So for him to catch the American audiences attention it's going to be hard. So his fanbase comes from only hardcore boxing fans and with the boxing fans being so divided these days that makes his base even smaller. It's going to be tough for him to succeed on the PPV stage if he is not fighting someone like Canelo or Cotto who would generate the big numbers for him.
This is another example of the kind of reasoning from a GGG fan I wish we had seen before the fight so we could've discussed it.

HBO lost a lot of money on this fight. They've done a great job promoting Golovkin, and this is how he repays them?

      Bad boy!

More deflection. Your hands must be ping pong paddles.

As for this thread-about the ppv sales from Saturday- we should be able to discuss in a civil way.

Maybe you and other GGG fans will deign to discuss the possibility that maybe you guys got a little to full of yourselves when discussing GGG's star power.

I wanted this fight to sell more but seeing you and some of the absolute worst garbage on this site scramble to make excuses has been enjoyable.
Haha.. Fetta is a humble poster? It was him blaming PBC's poor ratings on WNBA in a thread that you participated heavily in yet not once did you tell him to "stop deflecting".

I never even made an excuse for the GGG's ppv not meeting expectation. I never expected it to do great numbers in the first place nor was it a ppv worthy fight. I merely stated that he has not reached star status yet as a result of not having defeated other stars and that's what it will take. A win over Cotto or Canelo will take him to that next step.

Maybe I'm mistaken. But you and several other GGG diehards have completely eaten up this whole unification nonsense and claimed it was a bigger deal than than a fight with Ward will be.

And yeah.. some posters here spew some of the dumbest crap ever. Poster by name of "Golovkin" is worst one =/
              Trolls are trolls.

I get that posters are excited. It just would be nice if they could look at things from both a macro and micro perspective and analyze all sides of an argument.

I get there is a large segment of NSB that desperately wants a new face at the top. Its a process though and GGG has to go through it just like everyone else.

Win the tough fight(s) then win the "event" then we'll see where you are. He just hasn't done that yet. No, it isn't all his fault either.

                Im here.

WNBA was a winner take all game and sold out the Target Center with 19K+ so it has a market and it showed. Said after that this fight will also be affected by both Toronto and NY being in the playoffs and playing their games Sat and GGG not being as popular as you all think he was also played a part. Reason i didnt watch cause i knew no one who knew either of these guys. Plus throw in very popular college football teams playing night games and i didnt think it stood a chance.

Called it before and guess i was right oh but "Your just hating cause Ward fighting on BET" "Dumb, Fetta doesnt realize that after the game fans will tune in to watch this fight" " this fight will do well cause Basebore isnt GGG".

If anything you GGG fans/PPV number crunchers should be happy LA didnt advance cause this would have been even worse.

But hey they sold out MSG, regardless of ticket prices, and will continue to grow. Tried PPV and showed he wasnt ready for it. Thats ok, at the moment, only 2 are PPV quality and they are fighting eachother.

                Hope PPV model dies

You should change your name to defelection916 because that's the number of times you have tried to veer off the thread topic.

Fetta makes solid points. I don't always agree with them or support them.

You forgot that you also wanted to talk only about selling out the Garden. The site is not going to limit the discussion to just GGG's successes, no matter how much you and the other GG fans want that.

Look dude, there really is no debate here. If he failed to meet expectations, so be it. Its just the beginning. Maybe you and some of the other GGG diehards will tone it down a bit or at least get the scumbag wing of the fanbase in check.

Frankly, that would make NSB better for all of us.

This is 100% spot on. I can understand the scumbags and trolls posting this, but how in the hell does any respectable poster figure fighting Lemuiex for another 160 belt would be more appealing to fans then GGG going up to fight Ward?
