I caught that too. GGG is tough, but he isn't the New Messiah Of Boxing until he fights Ward and wins impressively.

I dunno, GGG sure has been bragging alot since Sat. nite. Now Sanchez. Starting to get to Blowhard status. And 'Conveniently Forgetful Status' regarding Ward.

Did Erislandy Lara just die ?
That's a fight I'd like to see. If Lara can avoid the bombs, he may have the best shot at GGG. Lara, Canelo, Cotto. All 3 good solid challenges for Abel's supposed indestructable icon.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

GGG had a good win vs a tough fighter in Lemieux. I don't agree with those who call Lemieux a bum. He has talent, just hasn't been trained right IMO. Anyway, if Mr Indestructible Icon GGG and Abel want to get some serious respect, fight Lara... one of the slickest boxers out there. And Ward. I'm not saying GGG is a fake. I'm just saying come on with the serious fights. Canelo/Cotto winner, Lara, Ward. Talk big, fight big. Or shut up and go back to the easiest fights.

Sanchez is a blowhard, but he's been saying this for a while, see link on previous page. As for Lara, he's got zero chance, and his team has no intention of making that fight now that Haymon is paying him 1m for no hopers

          That's not how it works.

And GGG skunks him. You all would say Lara was too small, although both would come in fighting at 170.
          Skunk Lara.... Never

And like I said how many other lesser GGG opposition deserved it at least Lara is a champ( once Floyd vacates)???

And Lara is the same Height as Lemieux with a longer reach I would give GGG props if he beat Lara( even though I like Lara more then GGG[still like him though] and it would hurt I would).

So my thing is why shouldn't GGG test himself fight Lara and Andrade it will get him prepared if he ever fights Ward.

And your right robbed or not Lara lost, just like GGG could have lost when he hit Lemieux when he was down. He's just lucky Lemieux isn't a Montel Griffin type.

I explained it earlier, see this:

            1. Lara is with Haymon
            2. He's one of Haymon least TV friendly guys, #1 on anti Gatti list
            3. Last got 1m for a stnker walkover
            4. He's a SWW with zero chance of winning
            5. Team Lara has no intention of putting him with GGG. Remember they said they'll call Team GGG after Delvin. Nothing, then Loeffler calls them out on it. Crickets. 2 months later: we'll try to fight GGG if we can't get Andy Lee... Lara scheduled for Zaveck lol.

DeCubas explains it well: "My guy is the only guy at 160 or below with a chance against GGG". When your manager says that, it means my guy has zero chance

              1. Doesn't stop people from criticizing Quillin and Jacobs.
              2. Doesn't matter he's been on PPV people know who he is plus he would do better then Lemieux in buys.
              3. True but you think he'd going to fight GGG the same way it's could be like Nelo or Angulo or Williams.
              4. Not true 2 Amateur standouts plus Lara has been in with better Opp then GGG( Williams, Nelo, Trout,) he has a chance and a good one.
              5. You got me there that fight makes Zero Sense. Why not Mundine( Interm WBC) or Smith (WBO). I get Lee would make more money fighting GGG then Lara so Lara is out in the cold on that. All I can say is its a showcase fight( since its in Florida) or Bad Management. Plus he's Haymon

It means what he says. Is it a lock no but Lara is a threat that's what I get from that.

loved your first point..and with lara being such a lousy tv draw on pbc im sure that al would let lara fight on hbo ppv..he really wouldnt be missing anything and he wouldnt have to pay lara's purse..ggg just hasnt reached out to make the fight andi doubt lara knows the right channels if he's still interrupting presser instead of making phone calls..

                  1. Nobody really criticises Jacobs, while Quillin was duckin before the network split, and says things like I'll fight GGG for 5 to 10m
                  2. I don't think that ppv was a plus for Lara. He soured both the casuals and hardcore's with that performance
                  3. If he's getting 1m for bums, how much would he want for GGG? Way more than HBO is willing to pay, since they don't like him anyway
                  4. Imo he's got no chance at all. Not even a punchers chance like Lemieux. A small chance of going the distance, wouldn't be close since he was fighting scared even vs Canelo. But I really doubt it goes the distance

It's not all up to Al, remember it was HBO that kicked him out. Dunno, Al should offer a more attractive package, like sacrifice Stevenson or winner of Quillin/Jacobs if he wants to offload Lara on HBO. And no silly purse demands

1.Jacobs gets it for being the regular champ and Quillin for dropping the WBO title cause of that Roc Nation crap also.
                      2. Considering the fact that some casuals think Nelo didn't look that good or lost to Lara, helps with the Pacquiao effect sell of it...He gave Nelo a hard time how will GGG do??? In a weird way the fight sells itself.
                      3. So he gets a little more also how open is the Cuban Market now that the embargo is over.... Granted it's still fresh and new but there's money their.
                      4. We agree to disagree. You say no chance I say good chance like 40 to 45% . Lara always fights like he's scared now( for some reason? Wish he was more like Rigondeaux ) look at Smith and Rodriguez uses lots of movement. He has a longer reach the GGG, is faster and is just as skilled who can hit on the back foot( I think he over looked Nelo a little, sometimes he was just standing there and not throwing a punch neither guy was, Lara cost himself that fight). In the end it would bring the best out of GGG win or lose (I always knew GGG was holding back and the Lemieux Jab feast proved it).
