I don't get what this clown is saying. So the GGG vs Mayweather is more popular, but it didn't happen. And you expect something less popular to happen? What am I missing? Is Mayweather going to fight GGG eventually?
I thought lil' g is popular himself. Sells out arenas. Gonna do wonders in his 1st ppv.
Get the second one. This is the second time I'm reminding you to use your common sense.
If that were to ever happen, it happens & I will critique when it does.
I see how you ignored the rest of my reply:
I ignored it, because it is just silly. You are comparing a guy (Cotto) ignoring someone (GGG) within his OWN DIVISION, to another guy ignoring someone 1 (or 2 depending on your perspective) division higher, when he has more lucrative options in his own division prior to moving up.......
And as for you critiquing it, I'll believe that when I see it.......

When Cotto was saying that who's ggg etc. Ya were PISSED at that notion (this was before he won the fight vs rubio) that Cotto was saying that ggg isn't a draw & doesn't bring money.
but now lil' g is using the high risk/low reward scenarios & ya are ok with that.
ya were always clamoring about how ggg would fight ANYONE from 154-168 lbs because fighters were "ducking" ggg & it has been difficult getting him fights.
Fights Rosado, a 154 lbr, at 160, calls it a title defense & ya praise him.
But if it's a Lara fight... nothing, nada, zip, zilch, *crickets.
"but lara has to prove himself at 160"
Monroe is more know than lara. Don't forget that.
when I mentioned Cotto, I specifically said BEFORE GGG BEAT RUBIO.
are you gonna reply to the rest of the comment or no?

I thought Cotto should have fought Rubio, even though it was a fight I was not excited about in any way. Right or wrong, the mando deserves his shot at the title. Fight the mando if its due, or vacate. (or make a step aside deal if theres a much bigger / better fight available)
None of that has anything to do with Ward. A GGG-Ward fight might have made sense when GGG couldnt get any unification fights at 160, but unfortunately at THAT time it was Ward who wasnt interested. Now the circumstances have changed, and GGG has his unification fights lined up, and Ward just isnt of interest to them.
I'm not going to bother reading through this entire thread of the same old comments rehashed from other threads once again. The only thing I will say is that I am shocked that it took 36 minutes to refuse the offer.
I assume it was actually rejected upon receipt but it took them 35 minutes to be able to stop laughing at such a lame proposition and about 1 minute to compose and send the reply.
Their last-minute offer was more about damage control than anything else. You don't normally expect anything from it because nowhere can you find a negotiation happens when the fighter you're negotiating with is already committed focusing on other fight. Why, because the possibility of losing is nothing to brush about. Ignoring it is the height of arrogance.
ROC Nation people are either lazy, amateurs or just full of airs they think they are too big to make the initial contact. They had all the time in the world to negotiate the fight before the Lemieux fight was made. They did nothing.
I was even shocked when GBP announced it. I thought the two fighters (GGG/Lemieux) will finally meet after a year or something. But when stockholders of a company are veteran boxers, the marinating idea seems garbage.
No surprise from GGG and his team they are full of **** just like how they wanted Ward at a catchweight ..They could have still gone through with the Lemuex fight and still been able to meet Ward ..This comes as no surprise

Even that can be negotiated. (There is nothing in this world that can't be negotiated. Only 8 year olds don't think so.)
Ward just can't make up his mind. He doesn't know what to do with his career. He could just have ended everything if he said, "No, I'm moving on. I can't fight below 168, end of story." Although he challenged Floyd at 160, which was probably a mistake, but just the same he could just have expressed his intention in fighting Kovalev and everyone would understand it.

Well now that he is moving up to lhw he can prove himself all over again
