Comments Thread For: Peter Fury: Klitschko Needed More Time, Saw Big Threat

Peter Fury, uncle and trainer of undefeated contender Tyson Fury, stands with his nephew on the position that WBO/IBO/IBF/WBA champion Wladimir Klitschko withdrew from their scheduled fight in order to buy himself some more training time. They were set to face each other on October 24th in Dusseldorf, Germany. HBO and Sky Box Officei were going to broadcast the bout.

Tyson felt strongly that Klitschko was scared away by the wild antics at their recent press conference. The unified beltholder withdrew a few days later.

The fight was postponed due to inury, but nice theory.

Klitschko likely has a legitimate injury and is too much of a pro to go into the ring at less than 100% but, yes, there may also be some truth in what Peter Fury's saying.

We've seen next to nothing regarding news on the "calf injury". Usually when an injury impacts a major sporting event or star, we get almost immediate updates on MRI results, expected comeback dates, etc, etc. The postponement had a huge financial effect across many sectors of the sport, so one would expect transparency in the flow of information, right?

I still think the problem is not in the calf, but about a foot or two north of that.

Wlad was struck down by a severe pain in the ass which left him unable to focus and concentrate on his training.

He'd better learn to deal with it, because Fury isn't going anywhere.

Peter telling it how it is like usual. Where's the proof of this "injury"?

Fury is the one jumping around in a Batman outfit and you question the champ for delaying the fight because of an injury? You really think Wlad wouldn't be prepared for Fury and has to delay? You must be thinking he is David Haye, lol!

I wouldn't be surprised if they concocted the whole plan together.

Wlad and David are bumming each other these days.
