Wilder is what he is. He's green, and raw. I personally think that Wilder can be great, if he really educates his left hand.

He didn't know how to beat the high guard and left himself open to counters. He also failed to use the uppercut until late in the fight.

I would love to see him train with Teddy Atlas, that would be great for him.

Probably because Dunlap kept moving forward trying to keep it close and Wilder likes his range. A good amount of hooks he threw at Dunlas when he was inside missed pretty bad

The HW division is hard to get a grasp on. These guys are tanks who can take and dish huge amounts of damage. Fighting in this division is no joke, look at Ali and Magomed for example. Regardless of skill level, a tough HW fighter can make any HWs night a long one if they are willing to fight with cojones and absorb punishment. These are what we call tough guys, not necessarily top talent but just tough guys who at the end tend to get edged by the superiorly skilled/talented fighter.

He did land some really nice left hooks also, he did miss a lot of them especially as he tired though no denying that.

Being WBC champion actually meant something once...Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Tyson, Holyfield...now we have Wilder and every time the PBC commentators talk about him, it's as if he is a prospect ("still developing" "still learning") not a belt holder of boxing's most prestigious organisation. That's sad.

The fact he got handed a swollen eye and had to tough it out against Duhaupas makes it even worse. Can't wait for Wlad or Fury or possibly Povetkin to give some credibility back to the green belt.

He has a lot of flaws but he's such a great athlete so it works for him. Wilder is the type of fighter that can struggle with C-listed fighters but also beat anyone out there because of his punching power and the fact that he's very explosive. He's very vulnerable and that makes him exciting.

It depends on your opinion of Wilder. I don't expect much from Wilder so I know what I'm getting. He looked how I expected him to look.
