As long as it's not a title fight of any kind, and just a tune up, return fight, I've certainly got no problem with them in that instance.

More fighters should do it if it keeps them busy and they're then able to do it properly when needed. It was a very common occurrence back in the golden days of boxing.

But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see him come back at a catchweight. Wouldn't want to get the wrong opponent though, because Maidana can get caught napping if he comes in to fights lazy and underprepared. I've seen it happen to him a few times.

I like Marcos but its easily notable he just wanted to make enough money to buy these new comforts, he's happy with a crib in the city and a little ranch in the country to go bust gats on and camp. At this point he'll come back for some paydays but I just don't see him having that old fire in his belly ever again, he's way too satisfied..maybe if he went full on broke.
Yeah, he's always been very upfront that he doesn't even like boxing and only does it because it pays well and he was better at it than most. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he just upped and retired now, although I do think he'll come back and have maybe a few more payday fights and call it a day. Two Floyd fights, on top of everything else, and he and his family are well and truly set up for life. Good on him, he's a champion of a guy.
