I was kind of expecting bigger too... but I guess any big numbers from here on out should only be expected on NBC.

Anyway, good numbers will happen if they put up good fights

If you have cable tv its free. That's my point. Its not a premium channel that you pay extra for such as HBO or Showtimie.

Nah, Golovkin vs Lemieux is more of a WCB broadcast, since they are both champs. The promoters and HBO had to put this match on PPV due to the budget contraints, from what I've read. Both fighters purses demanded it. If they took lower pay, it would have been on regular HBO.

So this fight was the biggest fight on ESPN in at least a decade. When you consider that this fight also probably did a very nice gate, things are looking very good all around.
True. PBC has been stomping FNF's ass in ratings. Although less, but better shows. Still doing a high rating for the last decade or w/e is good news for sure.

And the reality is love or hate PBC they are becoming, if they aren't already, HBO's #1 competitor & they've only been in business since March so the movements they've made so quick are very impressive.

They are just pointing out the fact that real free tv, is terrestial TV. Channels that you can get on the rabbit ears or HD antennas without the need of a TV provider subscribtion.

Have to agree to an extent. Most of the HBO championship broadcast are with a 2 million budget when you look at the purses. Considering Lemieux got $1mill plus for ndam and GGG got 1.5 mill for Monroe, I don't think HBO was gonna cover that high of a purse unless it came with any add ons. But this mostly a ppv bc HBO has been keen on selling knockouts this year and this is a unification between two decent sized promoters.

It was a damn good show. I'm glad people showed up to reward it.
