This fight kinda has the same feel as the first Maidana fight. Floyd had just beaten Canelo. Chino was kinda thrown in his lap as a B level fighter, that had a win in a big event, which made him "credible." Floyd didn't take him seriously, and had to dig deep to win that one. Same could happen here.

Floyd seems to have checked out mentally after Pacquiao. That was his Super Bowl. And if not for the SHO contract, he probably would have retired after Pac. Berto isn't very good. But, he has some good tools. He's fast and he hits hard. And if Floyd isn't locked in on fight night. He may find himself in a position similar to the one he was in in the first Chino fight. And that is in a competitive fight agsinst a guy he should probably beat easily.

Listen we're getting off track a little bit here.

Nobody is debating who's greater or smarter. You're stuck on comparing Duran and Mayweather for some reason.

All I'm saying is just like Floyd, Ali and Sugar Ray fought subpar competition 4-5 after being involved in their RECORD BREAKING MEGAFIGHTS respectively.

But do you honestly put Barkley in the category with Duran Leonard Hearns Hagler Ali Foreman and Frazier?!
Barkley is still a tough fight for anyone and a Duran at Middleweight.

And if you want to argue from the point of "megafight" that breaks records that's hardly fair because the guys that break records get pampered because of how much money they make their promoters.

But there is literally no reason you can't face back-to-back good fighters especially when Floyd's was no where as physically taxed as the other guys mentioned in their fights.

        Point taken.

I agree May/Pac was nowhere near as physically taxing as the other guys' fights were.

        Good debate Sly!

berto-ortiz was not a big event and no one cared or ranked berto after that win

berto isn't a pressure fighter though. floyd didn't come prepared to fight that type of fighter and paid the price. he worked on his cheat clinch game in the rematch and it was easy but against berto he just has to do what he normally does. stand outside and potshot.

And that is exactly how I see the fight going.

              Good post HK.

Floyd will not dominate Berto like most people assume he is going to do.

This will be a tough fight for Floyd..at the least!

No Berto, the ripping is due to this being a PPV event.

Berto, you do not have a good resume and in fact never did. When was the last notable win that you had?

It's a really ***** fight, but I wonder why the most vocal critics are the ones that claim Floyd is boring, and have no interest in watching his fights anyway.

People are ripping it because Berto doesn't deserve a crack at floyd

                      Guys that deserved it more

                      Danny Garcia
                      Amir khan
                      Shawn Porter
                      Cotto at 160
                      Crawford
                      Tim Bradley
                      Kell Brook
                      Ggg
                      Spence
                      Thurman

That's 10 dudes and I'm probably leaving off some names....

Berto fighting floyd is a ****ing joke
