Could go similar to when Eric Morales moved up to 135 vs Zahir Raheem, or it could go similar to when Ward fought Bika, with him losing a decision or getting Boone'd.

Fairly confident that Ward outpoints him at 168. Any lower than that I'd argue the weight would drain Ward enough to hurt him.

Reading most of this thread makes me wonder how many of you have actually seen these two guys fight. Stylisticly, Ward is a huge problem for GGG. GGG is best at mid range. Ward will likely get inside and make it an ugly fight by tying GGG up and trying to keep him turned. Really the fight will come down to how GGG deals with Ward's inside game. If GGG can do well on the inside, he can break Ward down and stop him late, if not, Ward probably wins a close decision in an ugly fight.

People who think Ward will outbox GGG from the outside are just crazy. If Ward actually trys to do that he will get KO'd and probably in relatively short order.

he's only really been in one division his entire career yet he wiped out chad dawson who was a lightheavyweigth at a catchweight.

why doesnt ward go up to 175 where big money and big legacy figths await him?
Actually Ward said he would fight Golovkin first and Kovalev after.

Dawson-Ward was not fought at a catchweight and Ward didn't ask for one. Dawson offered to move down to 168.

Golovkin was willing to fight Chavez jr and Froch at 168 but not Ward. What is your excuse for that?

Ward has done far more for his legacy than Golovkin at this point in their careers. Golovkin is already 33. When is he going to do something for his "legacy?"

Kovalev i would favor vs Ward.

Kovalev is a much more versatile boxer than GGG.

one thing id like to see from GGG is maybe learn the southpaw stance. have some switch hitting capability.
I love how people say that Golovkin is 'too basic'. The guy had a 345-5 amateur record and is unbeaten as a pro in 33 fights with 20 consecutive stoppages and 30 total, against just about every possible fighting style you could imagine and many that you could not, but you think he is 'basic'?

If you want basic, you got Ward for that. Clinch, head butt, run away. Repeat as necessary as long as crooked officials allow you to do so.
Doesn't get any more basic than that. Golovkin will either KTFO Ward or will win an easy UD after Ward gets a taste of GGG power and runs away for the rest of the fight.

And of course, the fight CANNOT be in Oakland.

You want to tell us when GGG or his camp made a formal offer to Ward for a fight at 164? The only time there has been any offer or negotiations between the two sides was when HBO called them in for talks and GGG was ready and Ward was not. Since that day, there has been absolutely no contact between the two camps and all these claims people like to make were nothing but comments in interviews with media people.

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY OFFER MADE TO WARD TO FIGHT AT 164.

Then that came out in the media, Loeffler was already in negotiations for the Lemieux fight. There was no way they would be trying to negotiate two major fights at the same time, especially when a Ward fight makes no sense, either financially or career goal wise, for GGG.

I guess people like to make a big spectacle of how ****** they are when they claim there were actual fight offers and talks going on when they know damn well there were not. Nice to see people who are not afraid to admit their idiocy.

Golovkin never accepted a fight with Ward and is not willing to fight him above 164 pounds. Stop lying.
Just asking for some consistency. Guess it's too much.

Ggg said that he said yes when HBO approached them about it, Ward said no. No denial from Ward, in fact he said recently it wasn't the right time then.

I've said many times I expect it to be an ugly inside fight similar to Bika/Ward. I also think Golovkin has a nasty side to him and will cause Ward problems on the inside. Ward is also a dynamic fighter who can change up, he could decide to use his speed and size advantage and keep the fight on the outside, especially if he doesn't like what he feels from Golovkin's inside fighting. Golovkin doesn't fight like Kessler, you can't just turn him and expect it to take away his punch. Golovkin will hit you on the hips and legs if you constantly maul him, he'll throw upper cuts if you're always diving in. If Andre gets away with excessive holding, he can expect to get the top of Golovkin's head rammed into his chin.
