Yeah, I don't care that he's fighting him but the contexts are Vastly different. I'm not buying it but some people will and they deserve something better than Berto for 75 bucks. Ali also wasn't getting paid 30 million, the valuation is just utterly idiotic for this fight.

      Lets compare their resumes then...
Who on Floyd CV is comparable to George Foreman?
Ali fought competitors who were in their primes, with the odds stacked against him
Floyds nearest challenge was 5 years too late, against a old midget, who had been knocked out unconscious few fights earlier
If Ali is so much better than Floyd doesn't that make him fighting Chuck Wepner even worse?

Wepner was awful, man. As bad as the heavyweight division is now, he wouldn't even make top 50. When Foreman only had 3 total pro fights, he knocked out Wepner in a couple of rounds. That's how bad he was, just some guy very young guys fight in their first few matches.

Who is there? Amir Khan, Thurman, Danny Garcia, Lara? Pfffft. None of these dudes have done anything special at all, no one has risen above the pack and made you believe they would have a shot at beating Floyd so it's whatever. Berto or Khan or Garcia makes no difference really.
        Pretty much exactly that~

Ali got $1.5 million for fighting Wepner which is the equivalent of getting $9,225,695.88 today if you calculate inflation. Sure, it's a bit less than $30 million since guys weren't in as much control over their earnings as they are now, but $10 million dollar paydays is a lot of money for any fighter on the planet today not named Floyd & Pacquiao.

Absolutely no idea what you're talking about in regards to Donte.

Here is the problem with this comparison. Ali fought 4 times in 1975. When you are fighting 4 times in a year you are allowed a soft touch fight. Not when you are only fighting twice a year.

The only other problem is as mentioned is the money. If you are making the type of money Floyd is and CHARGING the Fans the type of money Showtime is then you have to do better than this ****.

The last problem is this is supposedly Floyd's last fight. If that is the case and he is TBE as he claims to be then he should be shooting for greatness in his last fight not taking a 'stay busy' type fight, especially as Floyd isn't a guy that has taken a lot of damage over his career.

Put in the context above this fight is garbage.

The legends fought only legends lol

Ali fought jurgen blin, Alfredo evanglista, lost to 8 fight novice spinks in his 30s, barely beat jimmy young who was good but won some n lost some to the best but wasn't close to great

Mayweather is older than Ali when he took that L to spinks and he still p4p the best

Mayweather will get his due when he is promoting and building his brand as a 40+ hall of famer
