Not excuses, it's the truth. He waited for Pac n Cotto to get whopped before he fought them and fought Canelo at a catch weight.

I always thought that. Styles make fights, Cotto is the only one who ever had a chance of beating Floyd out of the three of them.

this thread is gonna turn into he should have did this or that

How many fighters in history, made it clear they were the best of their era

He beat almost every potential hall of famer in his weight class

          130 had Hernandez and Corrales

          135 Castillo

          140 Gatti

          147 Mosley, Hatton, Pacquaio

          154 Canelo, ODLH, Cotto

im sure at least 8 out 10 make the hall

with less than 50 fights that's impressive no matter how you slice it

dude has been fighting champions on a consistent basis since 1998....2003 AND 1999 are the only years he was actice since 1998 where he didn't fight a current or former world champion

          that doesn't happen everyday

only people that are gonna be complaining are the fans of the fighters he beat, or haters because Mayweather is truly an all time great and proofed it, he don't owe us nothing. He can end his career however he likes

So what? Pacquiao got his ass whooped three times before he even got to ww you idiot. Floyd fought the best pacquiao he could've fought. Floyd asked for cotto at 140 and was blocked by arum......Floyd left top rank and that fight wasn't possible afterwards because he was suing arum.

Pacquiao got knocked out twice before he even got to WW, bro. Accept the loss and move on.

you cant rewrite history......top rank prevented both of those fights from happening sooner

Mayweather fought ODLH his first fight not with TR

Soon as Cotto goes solo, he fought Floyd

sorry Floyd was never scared of all of them and how is him waiting to fight anyone benefitting him when he is older than Cotto, Pacquaio, and Canelo and has fought waaaaaay more championship opposition than them

He has twice as many title fight wins as Pacquaio

and it still would've been the same results or even worse for cotto.

The standards for Floyd greatness is substantially lower than that of other fighters. He doesn't have to fight prime opponents he just has to beat them. He left welterweight while everyone beat each other to death and came back to pick up the scraps.

Everyone know Manny wasn't the same after fighting Margarito and taking body shots from a much larger opponent, who Floyd also ducked.

Manny had to fight prime fighters though 8 division, is considered FOTD, universally recognized 3x fighter of the year, has beaten the most world champions in the history of the sport, and has 70 pro fights. But still some idiots believes Floyd compares.

A gift decision over a smaller man doesn't make you better, lol.

He fought Cotto way too late to be considered a great win and Canelo was Canelo.
