Comments Thread For: Wilder's Manager Says Povetkin is Not a Fall Consideration

World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33KOs) is not going to fight Alexander Povetkin (29-1, 21KOs) of Russia in 2015, according to the champion's manager Jay Deas.

Povetkin became the mandatory challenger in May after blowing away durable contender Mike Perez of Cuba in one round. Wilder, who captured the world title in January from Bermane Stiverne, stopped Eric Molina in nine rounds in June.

He says only that it won't be Povetkin? WTF?

I wonder who it could be. Winner of Tarver-Cunningham, Jennings, Mansour?

Just trying to think who is logical and not too stiff of a test.

Wilder's job is to play the heavyweight champion for PBC broadcasts

He will fight Tarver, Briggs, Cunningham or Arreola and Haymon will pay for endless extensions to avoid title stipping

                  Good point !

It is disappointing that even after admitting their first choice fell through, they still wont consider Povetkin.

                  Arreola man, I give up.

If playstations and tacos were banned, dude would be a killer.
