No point. Finish the career fighting a guy like Berto who fights at 147 and is legit for anyone in that division. it's cool with me as long as its free. Brook would be my selection if I got to choose.
Except GGG is an Olympic Medalist, and world amateur champion. Floyds resume is surprisingly lacking in anyone with any solid boxing background.

Its not the same thing as learn on the job Canelo.

    Medalists are a special breed.

    Floyd.
    Holyfeild.
    Roy Jones Jr.
    Andre Ward.
    Rigondeaux.
    Lomchenko.
    Klitchko.
    Whitaker.
    Lewis.
    Leonard.
    Ali.
    Patterson.
    Frazier.

Yet FLoyd never seems to want to fight anyone of them. Never wants to fight anyone with world class boxing skills.

    Why?

Floyd has spent most his career fighting past it guys, or guys who were never any good or overated at best, or not fighting guys when he should have.

Cant he just fight one proper challenge for once? At 160, none of this 154 business. CW middleweight would be ok I guess.

I like both GGG and Mayweather. GGG I like probably more, because of the entertainment factor. But this is a fight that GGG camp probably should not pursue, even though it is perfectly understandable from the monetary pov. Floyd is too small and too old... No amount of craftiness will compensate for that. And if GGG goes too much down in weight - it is even worse, it effectively terminates his career. Nobody was any good after such drastic weight loss... Go after Canelo, Cotto (if he insists on keeping the belts), go after other beltholders, Lee and Lemeiux... After all of this is done - go after the best available 168-pounder. If Ward fight will be in such demand now - do it, but without gaining too much weight. At the very worst possible scenario - it will be a lot of wrestling and decision loss... But who knows, Ward can be hurt and GGG definitely has power to do it. It is also not a given that if it goes the distance, it will necessarily go to Ward - GGG has a lot of boxing skills, that are overlooked because of highlight reel KOs...

Floyd would have lost to Sugar Ray Leonard. Leonard's skill, quickness, and his height + reach advantage would have negated Floyd's style.

Not just that, but I think Thomas Hearns would have been the worst kind of match up possible Floyd. Hearns vs Floyd would have been reminiscent of Mayweather vs Pacquiao. One guy using his height/reach advantage to get the shots in, while enough power to keep the other guy warry of coming to fight on the inside. This works well especially because Hearns has good speed.

These guys are taller with a better reach than any opponent Floyd has ever fought--- how many opponents has Floyd ever fought that had a height/reach advantage and comparable speed? Not to mention the skillset they posses. Even still, I couldn't rate Floyd's accomplishments higher than these guys.

Hagler is a no brainer, IMO. Hagler would have put Floyd's on his ass, but that's a bit unfair due to size advantage.

if Mister 164 had some wins over ELITE level opponents then Boom Boom would be on point....he's just pushing his anti-Floyd agenda just like the rest who would give ANYTHING to see him beaten or better yet iced.....nothing here but a anti-Floyd player playing himself

Two things right off the back, 1- GGG is not yet a great fighter and 2 not in Floyds level. And Floyd is already a top 10 all time great without fighting anyone else if he chooses to walk away today, that was established on 5/2/2015. What next Klichsco when he beats GGG? Some people hate this man so much they watch his fights with their fingers crossed hoping someone beats him they don't care who his opponent is. I will not watch a Berto vs Mayweather fight because I know for certain what the outcome will be I will instead save my money for Cotto vs Canelo. I'm not going to come on here hate on the guy because time after time fight after fight he has proven his worth and I don't like it, the man is the best of his generation therefore making him one of the top 10 best ever.

Floyd is not "TBE," and a win over GGG will not make him TBE. But he should be ranked higher than the following:

George Foreman, Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns, Aaron Pryor, Alexis Arguello, Pernell Whitaker, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Bernard Hopkins, Oscar de la Hoya, Felix Trinidad, Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Miguel Cotto.

Wherever he's ranked, as long as he's ranked above these ATG's, I'm cool with it! I don't think he can be ranked above Sugar Ray Leonard, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., or Roy Jones Jr., unless he becomes a Middleweight Champion. Beating GGG at 154 is impressive, but beating GGG at 160 would be legendary!
