best case scenario, CBS/Showtime ends up getting the entire PBC content deal, leveraging the saturday afternoon shows on CBS and primetime shows whenever possible, to roll fans back into seeing CBS/Showtime as the only place worth watching fights, satiating fans across the spectrum with their varied tier approach to presenting boxing (regular ShoBox cards on Showtime late featuring 50/50 prospect fights, Showtime Championship Boxing skewed towards presenting international UK/Germany fights in addition to domestic stars beyond the $1.5,-$2m cap of what is viable for PBC, regular fight cards on Saturday afternoon to hype/build names, and primetime CBS shows for marquee matchups.

worse case scenario, Showtime keeps plugging along like they've been doing recently; expanding the number of ShoBox cards aired on the network, competing for the US rights of big international showdowns, and be the premium home for fighters (Mayweather, Chavez Jr) and fights (Stevenson-Kovalev, Wilder-Klitschko)

Chavez walks into the ring with a granite chin, a natural body punching style, some heart and the physical frame/advantages that come with being 6'1 with a 73" reach.

Garcia's measure isn't fixing everything; he hasn't fixed everything with Maidana even after being with him for this long.

If Garcia can teach Chavez Jr to work his way in behind his long jab, you solve a lot of the problems with simply that If Garcia can end up teaching him how to take that half-step in/out, to not smother his work on the inside, you've basically got a top-10 super middleweight on actual ability.

He wouldn't be a top super middleweight (his feet are still to sloppy/slow and he doesn't really seem to carry the punch to wreck fellow 168ers), but he'd be able to make a career out of the move.

Keep the heat high in the gym, push Chavez Jr through the paces, and the cut's going to get easier the more active he stays (fighting again this fall doesn't give him the chance to balloon up to 200lbs and worry about boiling back down from that high

I find him utterly compelling viewing. It's not even hate-watching, it's all the funny-ass stuff that goes on. The way he struggles through fights, abandoning his game plan after round 2. The look on Sr's face. The interviews with Jim Grey ( ). It's addictive.

I think he does have the power for a one shot ko. What he lacks is the skill necessary to land the punch in a location to ko someone.

His ability to withstand punishment comes from rehydrating 20lbs, so the quality of his chin has yet to be proven against real SMWs. Will he ever face someone relevant @SMW? not if Garcia can't get him into top shape and teach him everything he needs to know.
