The president of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, is hoping to award a special world championship belt to the winner of the highly anticipated middleweight fight between WBC champion Miguel Cotto (44-4, 33KOs) of Puerto Rico and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (45-1-1, 32KOs) of Mexico.
The fight will take place at a catch-weight of 155-pounds with Cotto's world middleweight title at stake. The fight will take place on a date in November in Las Vegas, either at the MGM Grand or the Thomas & Mack Center.
