The president of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, is hoping to award a special world championship belt to the winner of the highly anticipated middleweight fight between WBC champion Miguel Cotto (44-4, 33KOs) of Puerto Rico and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (45-1-1, 32KOs) of Mexico.

The fight will take place at a catch-weight of 155-pounds with Cotto's world middleweight title at stake. The fight will take place on a date in November in Las Vegas, either at the MGM Grand or the Thomas & Mack Center.

I really can't stand all this catch weight stuff. I know its normal being done by Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, Alvarez and others but this is ridiculous. If you're gonna fight for a title it should be at the full weight limit. I hate how the sanctioning bodies are still allowing this. It defeats the whole purpose of the belt in my opinion. It is what it is.
