Golovkin is what? 33 and 35 fights in but he's yet to do the same.
Who in the middle weight division would you consider elite? And dont say Cotto, Cotto is a joke and it's known. He can't take punishment and that is exactly what Golovkin would bring. Cotto folds to punishment, a fact and seen twice.

Who are they? Peter Quillin? Danny Jacobs? People say Mora might've represented a stylistic challenge at one point in time, but he's past it. Maybe you're thinking Lara, I really don't see it but I guess some do.

He's probably more accurately classed as an Asian fighter with an Mexican-American trainer.

Golovkin won't get exposed like that, he will never fight some one of the level that Calzaghe was. There is no one at 160 that is at that level, and 154lbs has smaller fighters, they won't keep GGG at bay unless they have crazy power and speed. The only time we can see GGG get exposed like that is only if he fights at 168. Several guys there could be is Calzaghe.

who do you consider elite? you think calzaghe was elite when lacy fought him even though calzaghe's resume was worse than ggg's is right now. i don't know if you consider lacy elite with his one win over a top 10 guy but if he is elite then so are lee and lemiuex.

Let's not exaggerate. Old Eubank by himself is better than all wins on GGG's resume put together. Add the rest of the GGG-level opponents like Reid, Sheika, Salem, Veit, and he surpasses GGG's resume before the Lacy win. Finish up adding Kessler, Bika, Hopkins and past prime Jones, not even close. GGG won't ever reach a resume like that at this pace.

GGG is nothing more than a hypejob bum killer. he needs to move up and fight the best fighter in that weight class to prove himself. and only him, if he fights other 168 lbers like froch hes not proving anything. even tho froch is arguably top p4p today, hes 38 and deserves to duck him. if ggg does beat froch, then i wont give him credit. hell, if he beats ward i may not give him credit. 175 lbers have some monsters that ggg will have to prove himself against before i can get him out of the bum class.

so yes, hes jeff lacy 2.0 clearly

That's the point. Leave the the garbage division. Either drain himself to campaign at 154 or go up the mere 8lbs to 168.

Cotto is too small, not that he won't take punishment.

I wouldn't say Lacy but more likely Arthur Abrahams. I just feel that he'll be too small at 168 and his power won't be as potent. I still think he can win a title but see him falling short against the top guys (albeit dwindling) in the division.

I think he should stay at 160 and try to break Bhops title defence record, hopefully along the way he gets a big fight against Canelo/Cotto.
