Could Golovkin end up being the next Jeff Lacy?

Hyped up for his power, while yet to fight a real champion..Will Golovkin be exposed at the highest level?

    Unlikely.

Lacy fought one decent and ranked fighter, a past it Shieka in which he struggled and looked terrible.

Golovkin has blasted out better fighters than Sheika or at least the same level.

GGG won't get exposed like Lacy did, because there's no one on his side of the MW division to do it. The only guys I see troubling GGG are under the Haymon banner, and we all know the deal there.

GGG can seriously punch. Lacy's power was always overrated.

However, I do feel GGG will get his world wrecked if he has to face Ward at 168, or Mayweather at 154.

GGG's style is predicated off timing. An educated jab and good footwork will disrupt GGG's offense and force him into a wild swinging chaser.

I feel Mayweather vs GGG would look eerily similar to Mayweather vs. Maidana.

Ward would stop him. I notice Euro trainers have no problem throwing in the towel once their fighter gets a nose bleed. GGG's corner would not allow Ward to destroy him. They'd stop it after it becomes obvious they can't beat Ward.

This. Golovkin's already made easy work of the kind of fighters Lacy struggled with.

The only thing I got from this post was that Abel Sanchez is a Euro trainer.

It could happen to any one of us, really.

Go to bed yourself one night, wake up with Jeff Lacey's over-hyped face looking back at you in the mirror the next morning.

                  A chilling fantasy.

Lacy stepped up to elite level after 21 fights and at 27 years old.

Golovkin is what? 33 and 35 fights in but he's yet to do the same.
