I have no interest in seeing Golovkin dismantle Cotto in the ring. It would not even be close to a fair fight. If I want to see someone get beat up, I can head out to a biker bar any weekend.

Canelo will fight Golovkin in time and whether or not he fights Cotto for the MW title will have no bearing on that. If he won, he would also vacate before defending it against GGG as he is not ready. So all that would happen if Golovkin stepped aside is that he would have to wait until Cotto and Canelo got their crap together and negotiated their fight, which would take a few months. Then maybe they would fight before the end of 2015 and then GGG would have to wait another 6 months to a year before the winner decides to vacate the title. And he runs the risk of more games being played by whoever the title holder is and the WBC. You will never see the winner fight GGG.

By forcing the issue NOW, GGG has a chance to become the undisputed MW title holder by the middle of 2016. That would then make GGG the A side to ANY MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT until he decided to move up to SMW permanently. Then you will see Canelo and Oscar coming to GGG and Loeffler begging to get a title shot.

That is a far cry from Amir Khan's situation who may never even end up with so much as ONE title to his name.

I like GGG, just like you do, but as of right now, Mayweather vs. Khan outsells Mayweather vs. GGG. I don't like it, but it is what it is. Cotto vs. Canelo outsells Cotto or Canelo vs. GGG. Again I don't like it, but it is what it is! Casuals don't know GGG. Khan has beaten Maidana, Judah, and Alexander, and has fought Peterson, and Danny Garcia. The fact that Floyd is an ATG fighter, and the best of this generation, is not at all dependent on whether or not he has confidence. Beating someone isn't proof that you were confident you could do it.

I mean, have you actually looked at his face during fights? He rarely looks confident until the fight is close to ending and there is little chance he can lose.

Really look at his eyes in these photos and tell me you see confidence.

I just want to see the best fighting the best, not the best money maker fighting the other best money maker. We all saw the fight that gave us on May 2nd. This is why I am really starting to enjoy UFC more than boxing and have more respect for MMA fighters than I have for boxers. No one gets paid insane purses and they want to be known as the best, not the richest.
