See,this is what I find annoying and pathetic sometimes about boxing. When fighters use the excuse "you haven't fought anyone, you don't deserve the fight",how exactly are the other fighters supposed to get big fights unless the big names step in with them? Let's look back at at Floyd when he was 33-0,fighting Henry bruseles in American airlines arena. He was 2 years away from the breakthrough Oscar fight and he didn't get it until his 38th fight. What if Oscar had told him to **** off and said " you don't deserve the fight, you've only fought baldomir,Judah, and chop chop corley"? The double standards of this sport are ridiculous sometimes.

If it was to happen after September, Showtime would not be a factor as Mayweather's contract will be over. HBO could make a direct offer to Floyd and see what happens.

How many times does Loeffler have to say that what Golovkin is interested in is the title, not the fight with Cotto before people will accept it? Golovkin will NEVER get a fight with Cotto. He has already proved himself to be untrustworthy and not a man of his word by not taking his mandatory. He refuses to sign a guarantee to fight GGG if he beats Canelo. Is GGG supposed to take him at his word and take WBC at their word when they have already demonstrated that their word is not worth a damn thing?
Well as Loeffler has stated very clearly, NO, they will not take any chances and will not take anyone at their word. They will require a signed contact before stepping aside.
Canelo and Oscar have already made it clear that they have no intention of putting Canelo in the ring with GGG for another two years or so.
So is GGG supposed to put his plans on hold for another 6 months to a year only to end up in exactly the same place, facing a WBC champion who has no intention of honoring their obligations and having to force them to vacate the title? That would be a foolish thing to do. Much better to force the situation now and get the title now. Then he will be a unified title holder which will give him more leverage when pushing for unification fights with the remaining two title holders.
As for Chavez Jr., Stoolio is no longer a factor or a PPV draw.
Mayweather is retiring in Sept and even if he does stick around, the chances of a GGG - Mayweather fight will be slim but actually improved if GGG holds multiple titles.
Being a multiple title holder will also raise GGG's value on it's own and if he can become the undisputed MW title holder, he will be the only PPV level fighter at the MW division.
And it all starts by not taking shit from Cotto and the WBC.
No emotion here, just pure and simple analysis of the facts of the situation. Emotion is thinking that Cotto runs boxing and that he can do whatever he pleases with no consequences.

What's also pathetic is when these huggers of Floyd make excusesfor why he shouldn't fight that fight. I believe if you are a true fan of s fighter you would want that fighter to go for the biggest challenge. What a huge cap in the feather for Floyd and his fans if he fought and beat GGG. I'm a believer that it's a very competitive fight and Floyd has a great shot at winning. So if you are a fan why wouldn't you want him to go for it. Me being a boxing fan I want to see it happen for historic reasons. I look at it as how great would it be if he won that fight. But his fan base huggers fear that step up.

He can force the issue, get the belt, and still be on the same level as Amir Khan. That's not what I want. I want to see GGG fight the winner of Cotto vs. Canelo. Call me crazy!
Canelo will fight Golovkin in time and whether or not he fights Cotto for the MW title will have no bearing on that. If he won, he would also vacate before defending it against GGG as he is not ready. So all that would happen if Golovkin stepped aside is that he would have to wait until Cotto and Canelo got their crap together and negotiated their fight, which would take a few months. Then maybe they would fight before the end of 2015 and then GGG would have to wait another 6 months to a year before the winner decides to vacate the title. And he runs the risk of more games being played by whoever the title holder is and the WBC. You will never see the winner fight GGG.
By forcing the issue NOW, GGG has a chance to become the undisputed MW title holder by the middle of 2016. That would then make GGG the A side to ANY MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT until he decided to move up to SMW permanently. Then you will see Canelo and Oscar coming to GGG and Loeffler begging to get a title shot.
That is a far cry from Amir Khan's situation who may never even end up with so much as ONE title to his name.
