Interesting that he's saying Ward said no at some point. Wonder how true that is.Originally posted by AgainstTheRopes View PostYall are the dumb ones. HBO seem to have already apparently clarified the fight needed time to build, so I've no clue why Ward is acting like the financial reasoning for delaying the fight isn't a valid one when he's heard it directly from HBO.

GGG is a much more dangerous guy to fight, big name guys like Chavez Jr and Froch ended up either backing away from negotiations or refused to sign an extension w/ their promoter in order to secure the GGG bout.
GGG is also in a division where politics play a much much larger role in determining matchups. All of the top guys at 160 are in what amounts to the equivalent of a Boxing Cold-War, Haymon guys can't be allowed on HBO unless it's a purse-bid/mandatory challenge (HBO has stated that they no longer do business with Al Haymon, google it), and the remaining guys have their on circumstances on why they won't fight GGG (Cotto says GGG isn't a name, yet he fights Geale and those same criteria no longer apply) and Jermain Taylor who was with Haymon, now has been stripped and his belt is up for grabs in the N'Dam/Lemieux fight
The fact that 160 is a very weak division with only 4-5 "top guys" has made it difficult for GGG to get that career defining win to shut the haters up
Lemieux, Quillin, Cotto, Lee, which of these guys would you give credit to GGG for beating? I already know the answer.
His level of opposition? Everybody's fault but his.
His early career choices? Everybody's fault but not his.
Unweighed statements? Everybody's fault but his.
Holes in his game? "They are intentional"
Somebody criticizes him? "Hater!"
That's the thing I don't like dude, that's. It's not "growing hate" it's common sense. I don't believe that the world is polarised and just black and white but on this damn forum every second poster wants to see his favourite (especially the Golovkin and Pac fans) like they would be perfect knights in a shiny armour who are alone in this cold world full of vultures, haters and ducks. They don't think about it even a little that MAYBE just maybe their favourite is also not perfect.
I can count in my on hand the times I saw Golovkin fans criticized him in any form. On my one hand.
And to those who call Ward a duck. I can't prevent that but I would like to point out for you that from the Golovkin-Ward-Kovalev trio, the ONLY fighter who PROVED that he can fight and beat real elite opponents is Ward, not Kovalev or Golovkin.
For the record I don't think that any of them is a duck or anything, but if you already must call someone a duck then let's not that be the most accomplished and proved fighter from them because it looks foolish.Last edited by HEND; 06-15-2015, 05:20 PM.

GGG has the luxury right now that he was built up as a feared fighter, and when that happens, other fighters who are having a tough time finding an opponent want to fight you. Right now Lara wants to fight and GGG and his team don't give his manager a call. Lara has been calling out for a fight since Martinez rejected GGG years ago.

So I've now seen in this thread that his English isn't too good so he says dumb things sometimes. Strange... I heard GGG fans giving Cotto **** for being caught off guard by a question not in his native language. Still it's not really shocking to hear GGG say Ward is dead to him after calling him out saying he won't fight him.
I can only imagine if Canelo or Cotto said they wouldn't fight each other and one was dead to them because of how the first negotiations went. Yet, it's GGG who is doing everything in his power to make fights happen right?
