My opinion on why Sergio is overrated.

He beat a one dimensional Pavlik that was also dealing with all kinds of personal demons. The fight was also even going into the 9th round when Pavlik got cut and was no longer able to see. The Martinez fight was also Pavlik's last relevant fight and his career was basically over.

Sergio lost to and then knocked out one of the, in my opinion, most overrated fighters in the history of sport of boxing in Paul Williams. And why?

Paul was exactly 2-2 in world title fights and never dominated any division. And he was also totally outclassed by a pretty lame fighter named Quintana. Paul also, in my opinion, got way to much credit for beating senior citizens Winky Wright and Verno Phillips. To me Paul hardly had the resume of one of the supposed most feared man in boxing that no one wanted to fight. Paul was also on many P4P list and I honestly have no idea why.

One of Sergio's other big wins was obviously against Junior. A fighter who supposedly has problems with dedication to training and smoking to many blunts and not taking his career seriously. I honestly believe that it was all just a smoke screen to coverup the real problem.

And that is, do I really need to say it? That he simply isn't a very good fighter. Junior also had his career served to him on a silver platter by his dear departed God father. Fonfara finally did boxing a big favor by knocking Junior off his fathers coattails.

Who else did Sergio fight? Other than Murray, who I believe is in fact world class, he fought a collection of what I believe to be domestic level European fighters. And many to include myself thought that Martin beat him.

He than lost to Cotto that was on his way to retirement when he stopped and smacked the crap out of Sergio.

So, there have it, my opinion on why I believe Sergio's career was overrated. And as I said earlier I consider myself a fan of his and I really enjoyed watching him fight. But nonetheless he was still overrated.

Im Glad, its the right move. He has to be worth a few quid and is a star in Argentina so money isn't an issue and his legacy is secure as a very good dynamic fighter with fluid movement, speed by the bucket and a punch to boot. Tough brave fighter too Martinez. Great career champ enjoy retirement

You and nearly everyone else takes it so personal I do it for the lolz. You are dumb as rocks but somehow take everything as literal as an engineer. It's called a joke, you guys need to lighten up lol. You got so offended by that comment as if I called your mama a ho and it wasn't directed to you at all.

If you say Cotto beats someone this is the reaction it gets... and you guys say the Cotto fans are the dumb ones LMFAO.

What great win proved Cotto elite?
                      Past Prime Shane Mosley?
                      Feather Fisted Paulie?
                      34-4 Zab Judah?
                      Alfonso F***ing Gomez?
Or that Slit Decision with Clottey?
Beating up already broken men in Margarito and Marteniz?

Your truly pathetic bro... Have some respect because your hero hasn't done anything remotely great in his Career. It won't be a surprise that once he steps up against Canelo, he will do what he does best and that's taking a f***ing knee being no better than a Puerto Rican Victor Ortiz
