Starting with Pac. He looked Terrible, he wasn't using the right like I thought he should, even saying throw the right, well now we know he couldn't.
Just about when there was an engagement of fisticuffs Jr took off running to the other side of the ring, AFTER he threw a pitty pat shot that would make grandmother giggle.
This was , is and shall never be good for boxing, only about 14 or 15 like you here on NSB.
Over the years I have seen men lose and win, this one fight is not the end of the nice world , I am more concerned about how the fight went and the fair play involved from the grassroots of its begining to end and how that affects boxing as a whole, than one fight.
I have said this fight needs to end in a KO. Jr couldn't KO a fly. and we don't know about Pac anymore, maybe he can't either.
ONE thing I KNOW: ONE RAN and ONE CHASED
I KNOW ONE CHICKEN CHASER that might just catch that CHICKEN hahahaha wanna guess ??
GGG is the nice answer. But in Vegas I don't believe that anyone can get the fair shake they deserve. Vegas was built on corruption and continues on corruption. Jr will win a decision over ANYONE in Vegas, it matters not if he was whupped or NOT. He will get the decision over GGG, all he has to do is
RUN, hahahahahaha,,,,run little rabbit run.

Consider the megafights since Liston-Patterson??? Let's consider the recent megafights:
Tyson-Holyfield 2 - bit his ear/killed boxing
Tyson-Lewis - 2 past prime heavyweights/one sided beatdown
De La Hoya/Trinidad - ******
Mayweather didn't kill boxing. YOU killed boxing for only giving a damn about two fighters and forcing the sport to put all of its eggs into one basket.

In fact, the way he beat Pac sums up Jr.'s career. Boring, just enough to get by, and never taking the risk to be great. If he wanted to go for greatness and prove he was really the better man, why not step up the volume? Load up on some shots? Why not try to KO your 5+ year rival rather than settle for a decision that in hindsight, people are saying Pac might of even won when you slow mo the f**k out of the fight (lol).
I don't care that he beat Pac, I care about the way he beat Pac. It wasn't enough to call him a man and say he deserved it or earned it. Marquez got that. Marquez deserves all the props (juice or not), to have walked into the lion's mouth, bloodied and nearly on verge of KO himself to throw the punch of a lifetime.
Looking at Jr.'s win? Meh, not impressive what so ever. Only impressive that he once again stole my money.

What kills me is that Floyd is being blamed for the lack of action. Floyd's gonna do what Floyd does. His comfort zone is when there's a lack of action. But he's been in some entertaining fights. The first Maidana fight was entertaining. The Cotto fight was entertaining. Even with all the wrestling, the Hatton fight was entertaining. The common denominator in those fights were that Floyd's opponent brought to fight to him, took him outta his comfort zone, and made him work. For whatever reason, Manny didn't bring yhe fight to Floyd. And in the second half of the fight, he seemed to have given up and settled into on of thos silent agreements that Tedy Atlas always talks about where Floyd's opponent agree not to press the action, and Floyd agrees to do just enough to win rounds

Mayweather the nice chicken runner didn't kill boxing he just stunk it out and the sooner he is gone the sooner we will get back to what BOXING has ALWAYS BEEN !!!!!!!
You weren't even in diapers during the era of Liston vs Patterson, you don't know the electricity that fight made, you have no idea of the power of Radio and hearing a blow by blow in the only medium to have made contact with that fight, or to have it Stamped in yer mind this is what Boxing is about as a young kid.
Your dribble is nothing more than dribble, so dribble mang, and by the way it will be anticlimactic to go and find the radio transcript and listen to it, it will sound so ODD to you because of the technology of this day puts it to shame. BUT you will have missed all the DRAMA that fight and MUCHO MORE CREATED. We had to search the papers in the sports section daily to get bits and pieces , NOW its CRAMMED DOWN YER THROATS ,,,,just open yer maw and here it is every morning.
No one fight will kill boxing.
but
I will say this , if from NOW on until the very end, boxing makes a left turn and BOXING BECOMES a sport of Chicken vs Chaser, then boxing will fade away in the gloom of darkness forever. People will be sickened as they were May 2.
GGG , KOVALEV , and a host of others will get her back on track.

Real boxing fans agree with you HAtton, the entire event was sour, even going into the fight many people said it was 5 years too late that Pac was washed up and done.
The only ones who don't agree with you and loved this were Floyd fanboys who are not real boxing fans.
The fight was weak, boring, and a let down.
But yes Floyd deserves the full blame, he had Pacquiao to take out, Floyd had to outperform Marquez to get credit, he didn't, his father yelled at him saying you fighting scared, this fight was about Floyds legacy he had to show to the world he was the best and its not about sqweaking a victory out, but by dominating and he failed to dominate, in fact the hardest shots were landed by Pacquiao the punches he did land flush hurt Floyd.
Even in 2011 Floyd fanboy Doctor_Tenma said Pacquiao was on the decline and done
Manny's time could be a lot closer than we think by Doctor_Tenma
Originally posted by Doctor_TenmaJust hear me out. Since the Margarito fight I've seen the decline. I went from actually being 50-50 in a possible Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, to slightly leaning towards Floyd to win, to now comfortably picking Floyd to win. The wear and tear, wars he's been in, the constant training camps he has to go through, the fact that he fights consistently, it's all gonna catch up to him...probably sooner than we think. So when it happens don't be shocked.
He's wasting his time against now mediocre opponents, so he'll have himself to blame when it happens. It doesn't have to be Floyd to do it, it can very well be Ortiz or Timothy Bradley. Manny's the kind of fighter that can't afford to lose speed, or any sort of athletic ability. When he's unable to get into those weird angles, what then? Leg cramp or not, Mosley shouldn't have been able to make him miss that many times, Pacquiao should have gotten him out of there.Last edited by hectari; 05-21-2015, 09:24 AM.

really come on , we both know chickenized boxing is BORING, like IMA BORED and you fall off to sleep, I mean mang where is the thrill in watching a CHICKEN RUN when he could have KO'd his man ? WHO WANTS THAT ? Who wants to watch someone do just enough to win the fight ?
If you do, go for it. I wouldn't brag on it, it makes you look ******.

I dont usually agree with Hatton but he's right. This fight really didnt do any justice for boxing. I train my boys boxing out of a UFC gym (because theres no Boxing gyms close by) and all the MMA neandrethals have been clowning boxing daily ever since the "big" fight. The times that I havent gone to the gym instructors at the gym have been telling my boys boxing sucks, its a dead sport, & they need to change their stance to MMA etc... Before the "big" fight the UFC gym was expecting a skyrocket of membership in their boxing classes but it actually went opposite after. I personally think boxing will always be bigger than MMA because that sport has its own issue (ie. Steroids) but boxing didnt do anything that day to cement its claim to glory. Personally I think Manny & Floyd shouldve put on a show for "the sport" but I guess if theres guaranteed purses of 150million+ theres no need to worry about anyone else thinks. Sad but I guess its human nature. Lets hope the new generation does the sport some justice, hopefully PBC produces along with the other promotional companies & they all start working together to make the best fights possible and make superstars that actually care about the sport of boxing and not Ferraris and politics.
