Willie's got it right: There is no need for Floyd to fight GGG (unless Floyd can boost it up to being a huge payday which he cannot resist).

Floyd is among the reasons boxing is in the pits and his reign coincides with boxing being in the pits
The most visible fighter being a boring fighter and degenerate person means that even though he can cut himself huge checks (like any champion in any sport) public interest in the sport itself is low

Floyd should make him drain down to 152 and allow him to only bring 8 more pounds to the ring...152 with a 160 re hydration clause...just to piss people off

People should not even entertain the thought of Mayweather vs Golovkin. Floyd has no bussiness at all being in the same ring as GGG and vicecersa. Weight classes are there for a reason.
Yeah i know, you really want to see Floyd get KTFO but cmon son, be serious.

It's unrealistic to expect Floyd to move up again, 154 is his absolute peak. Yeah it would be a cool fantasy type fight to watch, just to see it happen, but it's too much size and weight difference. Canelo vs Golovkin is the fight that needs to happen and Canelo has already fought above 154 his last three fights in a row.

Well.... he's right..
Besides, all them casuals claiming he "ran", well if he "ran" vs a welter weight what makes you think he wouldn't "run" vs a middle weight. With their logic, they should be calling for Floyd to fight junior welter weights and or light weights.Last edited by WESS; 05-17-2015, 06:04 PM.

On top of that he's American in a sport starving for American talent and he affiliates with celebrities like Justin Bieber.
I didn't say he isn't a good boxer nor that his handlers aren't good businessmen. It's all worked out and generated lots of income.
But his agonizingly boring "megafights" and the universally dismal public reactions that always follow are hurting boxing as a whole. When he's finally gone we will see some real fighters on top and compare favorably to other combat sports again.
Maybe there won't be one undefeated guy making $100 mil a night but the sport as a whole will be easier to care about. Right now as a new/casual fan you have to sift through miles of Floyd manure to find anything remotely entertaining.Last edited by ////; 05-17-2015, 06:06 PM.
