This problem really won't go away for Canelo, he can mess around for a while. If he can get Cotto, Andrade and Lemieux in the ring people will still ask about Golovkin but they won't mind fights like that much as those should be challenging fights for Canelo.

If he doesn't fight top shelf guys or at least close to that he is going to start catching all kinds of heat. There aren't even good political reasons holding it back that make sense they are on the same side of the street.

Smart business is obviously to fight Cotto first, provided he gets past Geale. Much better pay day vs Cotto and Cotto will not hold on to that strap for much longer one way or another. Get him while hes hot. But based on last night, I dont see why Canelo should worry. He can box, has good head movement and power. Its a very good fight Canelo vs GGG but by no means a blowout and by no means a matchup Canelo should be fearing or ducking. I dont believe he will duck GGG.

Well technically he should be considered a middleweight. Once you're fighting above the 154 weight limit of LMW, you are in the next division. You don't HAVE to weigh in at 160, hence GGG weighed in at 159, just anywhere between 155-160 is MW.

This is why catchweights annoy me. I actually don't mind the odd catchweight for a fight that we all want to see and the only fair way to make it is meet half way. But when you're constantly campaigning at 155, then you should be considered middleweight and fight middleweights.

I also don't agree any title should be on the line. Cotto defending a MW title not set at the 160 limit is a huge disrespect to the belt and great champions who have held it before and didn't do this. If you're not going to fight with a 160 limit, drop the belt.
