"Why do Floyd fans hate GGG so much?" Where does this logic come from?

Simple. "Floyd fan" is code word for "slick technical boxing fan", "black boxing fan", "pure boxer fan"...you get my point.

GGG is the anti- " black, slick technical "boxer". So people WANT to convince themselves that "pure boxer fans" hate GGG so that they can have their victory since they can't get satisfaction from seeing Floyd lose.

GGG is a sensitive topic. People like myself think he is an incredibly skilled fighter with a sub par resume. I like what i see skill wise and i want to see these skills tested. The other group of extremists think he's a god who can do nothing wrong and should be crowned immediately without proving himself. They demand fighters like Floyd and Pacquiao to move up and challenge themselves but hate the thought of GGG doing it. They would criticize Floyd for trying to fight a lightweight but it's OK for GGG to fight welterweights. They demand Floyd to move up and challenge himself to fight GGG but can't stand the thought of GGG moving up to fight Ward. It's sort of like a cult.

So when "Floyd fans", " slick technical boxing fans", "pure boxer fans" raise these issues for debate, the cult members mistake these facts for "hating GGG".

So I call it, the civil war of GGG supporters:

The realists - he's an incredible fighter and we will hold him to the standard of all other greats.

The cult members - he can do no wrong, he's the anti-" slick, technical, pure boxer", we're happy with opponents like Willie Monroe

i like both mayweather and golovkin because i like smart, well-schooled fighters. you can learn a lot about boxing from watching both of these men fight. to me their styles are complementary, not conflicting

Most of them are race baiters. They were the same with Kovalev before he beat Hopkins. They're the same way now with Lomachenko. Golovkin, Kovalev, and Lomachenko don't fight like each other at all and yet the same posters slate them at every opportunity.

What's weird is that there are very few people who have shown "hate" for GGG. Not impressed? Maybe. Want to see him step up? Sure. Hate? I think the OP and many others, as PBP stated, just want people to hate him. It's not happening. We're not cut from that cloth.

Just cut to the heart of the matter. Floyd fans don't really think Floyd can beat GGG unless it's at 147. GGG is chopping all the competition down and calling Floyd out so naturally, Floyd fans say he brings no money, is too big and needs to move up and face Ward.

I think the fight at 154 is a fair fight as it takes absolutely nothing away from Floyd's abilities at all and forces GGG to drain down. Bottom line is people are scared of GGG....from 154 all the way up to 168.

I'm a Floyd fan but I'm also a fan of GGG. Personally I don't get it. I noticed its not the Floyd fans but rather the HAYMON GROUPIES who have a problem with GGG. Of course all of the Haymon Groupies happen to be Floyd fans.

i think the difference is that golovkin is willing to move down a full division and challenge mayweather for the two titles that mayweather already possesses in that division, whereas those calling for golovkin-ward right now are demanding that golovkin concedes everything in negotiations. it's the difference between a compromise and a sacrifice. anyway, i think many golovkin fans like myself would love to see him fight ward (at 168 lbs) and expect it to happen at some point, but only after he has settled business at 160 lbs. at minimum we want unification, and additionally it would be nice if one of those unification fights involved alvarez or cotto (and seeing golovkin finally get his hands on quillin would be the cherry on top, although i guess it's impossible now).

The problem with Mayweather is he never fought the great fighters of his era during their primes. Not one. He usually waited until they were all past their primes and in one instance when 1 fighter was too green.

All the greats fought other greats of there time in their career primes. This was important to them. Yes, money was important to them too, but they were not obsessed with this A-side B-side bull****. This obsession with A-side has been created by Mayweather and his minions have picked up on it and have made it the be all and end all of what is suppose to be important. Even the press has gotten caught up in it. And now other fighters are doing it even when they, themselves are not A material yet or may never be A material.

De La Hoya fought Trinidad when they were both in their prime. He fought Quartey, Mosley, Vargas, Hopkins all when they were in the prime of their careers.

Sugar Ray fought Hearns when they were both in their primes, also Benitez and Duran. Hoyfield fought Bowe while both were in their prime. Jones & Toney fought each other while they were in their prime. Ali fought Frasier, Chavez fought Taylor, Lewis fought Vitali, Barerra & Morales fought each other in their prime. I can go on and on when great fighters fought the best of their eras while each combatant was in the prime of their careers.

As soon as i read the first paragraph i had a feeling you would sneak Chavez as an example in there.

How you can criticise Mayweather for not fighting a great fighter in the prime and then mention Chavez beating Taylor is beyond me.

Did Taylor have talent to be great? Yes. Did he achieve greatness? Clearly not. Is he even hall of fame? doubtful.
