    Comments Thread For: Mayweather Stands Firm On Rescinding Rematch Offer

    Event handlers are still awaiting final numbers to see just how high the financial bar has been set by Floyd Mayweather’s 12-round win over Manny Pacquiao. The May 2 event at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas was already targeted to shatter all box office records, but current projections have Pay-Per-View numbers going through the roof.

    Mayweather was guaranteed a record $120 million long before a ticket, Pay-Per-View unit or sponsorship space was even sold. The pound-for-pound and box office king will likely add another $100 million in revenue upside in the coming weeks, as even conservative estimates have the event generating well north of $400 million.

    This reversal only serves to perk more interest and hype when he changes his mind again in 2016.

      LMAO until someone else puts up another guaranteed $180 million then everyone will reconsider it. I don't think Floyd retires though, expect another big ass negotiation with showtime or even HBO this time around.

            Floyd should never do any business with Top Rank again...period! In fact, there's no need to. There's not one fighter in TR's stable that can beat Floyd right now. Team Pacquiao disgraced themselves, and disgraced the sport of boxing.! I hope Manny fights Crawford next @ 140, just so I can see Manny get "schooled" one last time!

                No need for Manny to drop to 140. Crawford can meet him at 147 so there be no MF ng excuses.

                    I say HBO. Once his SHO contract is up it becomes way less expensive and easier to go with HBO if they don't have to split the revenue with anybody and in that case such a big promotion is not even required to make the rematch a go. Maybe even another huge payday with GGG later on.
