British star Amir Khan (30-3, 19 KOs) is ready to accept a fight with former three division world champion Adrien Broner (30-1, 22 KOs), but his focus is firmly placed on his next return, on May 29th against Chris Algieri (20-1, 8 KOs) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The two fighters have been trading words for the last few weeks. Broner has continued to go after Khan on the social networks.
A member of Khan's team told the UK press that Broner was their first selection for the May date, but they claim Broner insisted on a catch-weight for the contest. Broner, a former welterweight champion, dropped down to 140-pounds after losing to Marcos Maidana in late 2013. Khan moved up to welterweight early last year and no intention of moving back down.
