if cotto does it is wrong, but is also wrong if ggg does it, so to bring the draw excuse to the table is not something ggg fans should be doing...
and dont bring the mandatory çrap also, cuz you still bitçh about canelo when he has no obligation of fighting ggg either...
    cant have it both ways...
You refuse to understand that Ward and GGG are in two different weight classes. For a fighter to change divisions for a fight, there has to be a valid reason to do so. It is not a simple thing to move up to a heavier division and can be detrimental to a fighter's health and power when he moves back down. THAT is why a fight of that nature has to be worth the risks and the financial payoff has to reflect that risk.

As for Canelo, the guy has to pick a division and get off the fence. ODLH has already stated that he has no intention of putting Canelo up against GGG for a couple of years at least. He should not even be mentioned as a possible opponent for Golovkin at this point in time. Let him make a name for himself fighting middleweights at the middleweight limit and then he can come into the discussion. Not before then.

Why oh why do fans worry about a PPV draw or how much more they make than another fighter.I swear the way some fans talk its like they are getting a piece of their fighters winnings.I don't care what they make,I just want to see them fight.IMO Cotto will never get into the ring with GGG.If and that's a big IF,Cotto beats Geale and Canelo he will drop the belt instead of fighting GGG.If GGG takes step aside money then Ill lose some respect for him.You cant go around for the last couple years saying you want to unify the belts and then turn around and step aside so somebody else can fight for it.I don't care how much money is involved.

To all the people talking trash about GGG's past opponents.Answer me this;if boxer A wants to fight boxer B but boxer B doesn't want to fight, how do you get him in the ring? Go to his house and tie him up? That's kidnapping charges right there.Ok so now you kidnapped boxer B and you and your buddies somehow get gloves on him and get him in the ring, now what? The minute you let boxer B go and he sees boxer A across the ring he is gonna be under the bottom rope and running for the door.So what did you accomplish other than getting yourself thrown in jail.lololololo

i agree with the bolded, but you keep bringing canelos name...
as for ward everything you said about him not being a draw has nothing to do with weight classes... ward is not fan friendly but he is a big name and a win over him will do a ton for anybody (froch, ggg, chavez, you name it)...
        not everything is about money...

Canelo does the same thing along many others in the sport. Very few go to higher divisions to fight bigger guys ala Manny and Cotto.

          Here comes the hate!!!

Tell that to Cotto and Canelo. And Ward too, because he expects to be paid at least 7 figures for feeble tune up fights.

I only bring up Canelo because people are putting him over GGG to fight Cotto and that is for one and only one reason... MONEY. Canelo is irrelevant to me as far as GGG is concerned.

Ward is not a draw and he is no longer a 'big name' in boxing. He may have been in the past, but that glory faded away 4 years ago with the Super Six tournament. He has done absolutely nothing since. It is only his few remaining fans who believe he means anything to the sport today. For everyone else, he symbolizes wasted potential. I do not think a win over him is worth any more than any other win.

In my opinion, Ward is the most over rated, over inflated fighter to come along in many decades. He has THREE good wins to his credit. THREE. Froch, Kessler and Abraham. And the most recent, Froch, was almost 4 years ago. None of those wins were particularly dominating - two were decisions and the Kessler fight was stopped by the ring doctor due to cuts caused by Ward head-butts and went to decision. Hardly dominating.

Most of Ward's resume is composed of 'who the **** are you' fighters that few people have ever heard of and only because their names are on Ward's resume. So no, I don't consider Ward to be a great fighter and would put a win over Cotto or Canelo or any number of other active fighters above a win over Ward.

But don't worry keep spouting nonsense about how 154 fighters are ducking GGG
Ggg is doing precisely what cotto is doing. Looking for the most money with least risk. This site hates cotto for it after almost twenty years of fighting everybody But loves ggg whom has not fought anyone of note In his three or four year old career. Cotto deserves some slack ggg doesn't. Ggg either needs to fight canelo or ward or wait his turn.

If I'm a fighter, I'd take step aside money any day. I don't see what the problem is. You're going to get to fight the champ eventually. Just take the free money and move on.

They probably won't disclose how much, but I'm guessing GGG's team will be asking for a significant amount.

I bet GGG could get one of his top 3 paydays from a step aside fee if he plays his cards right. Not a bad deal for GGG. Get a pile of money for NOT fighting. Hard to argue with that. I think 85% of fans think GGG takes this anyway so them fighting is more anticlimactic then people act like.
