I agree, I ran into him once when Mikey Garcia was having an open workout and didn't get to talk to him I wish I did. He must be an arrogant, self loving ****** for people to talk about him the way they do. Sr. won't be the first or the last to feel this way about Ariza.

Most boxing trainers are threatened by the potential loss of control to S&C guys. They shouldn't be, but they are.

The S&C guys are coming with scientific, evidence based approaches to preparing fighters and that's relatively alien to guys like Mayweather Sr.

People like him, most boxing trainers really, are bringing their approaches from experience and knowledge of the craft that has evolved in boxing gyms over the past 100 years. It's not based on scientific studies or college courses, but it's every bit as solid as the stuff that is.

Both are valuable in their own way, but they're so different they're very hostile to one another. The very same conflict has played out in every professional sport over the past few decades. Boxing is just a bit late to the party.

Sounds like training camp has been going great over at the Mayweather boxing club

I don't understand why Sr. went to town on him like that to be honest, at the end of the day Ariza is a S & C coach, he knows how to get physical results from athletes in different sports and help them prepare to be in the best condition they can be, he's not a boxing coach, he doesn't have a fraction of the knowledge Mayweather Jr. and Sr. have on boxing tactics, techniques etc. They don't have a fraction of the knowledge Ariza has on the conditioning and nutrition side of things either.

He should embrace the fact that Ariza can improve his sons conditioning and have him physically prepared, that can put his mind at ease and have him focus on what hes most knowledgable about - coming up with a great gameplan and putting it into practice.

I think this could be it, they fear not being in complete control of what goes on in camp, when really actually listening with each other and meeting half way could benefit their boxer even more.

Sr never even gave Roger his proper due for training Floyd.

He sure as hell wont give Ariza any credit for anything.

Stop writing "LoL" because you don't know Ariza or what he would or would not do so just stop it man... have some damn dignity. The article clearly states that Sr said to them that Ariza has not been of any help with information on Pacquiao so this means if Ariza hasn't been of no help with information....... Sr tried to pump him for information... Do you actually believe that Sr has not tried to get information out of Ariza? Stop it man!!! You are making yourself look dumber each time you post. Why do I have to break down an article that clearly reads what I am saying?
and u know ariza?? u dont either! but based on past experience i would believe ariza will spill the beans rather than to keep quiet.

where are u getting these info from??? making it up to fit ur argument i see.

Sr is clearly an egomaniac and he really needs to STFU sometimes. Everytime he opens his mouth he needs to be thanking his brother Roger for holding Floyd down while his ass was locked up. I'm sure Roger is still a vital part of Floyd's training and he really should be in the ring with Floyd when he fights.
