Ariza been involved and around the sport for a long time...he knows a thing or two about the sport imo...Sr. is a ego maniac...he wants ALL the credit for his son's success...listen to him...he's always giving himself credit for anything Floyd accomplishes!!..I think he's just trying to down play Ariza's work with Floyd and how valuable he may be for this fight...Sr. need to chill with that ish!! CONTEXT IS NEEDED:
Everyone knows that Floyd Sr will never let any ONE person take credit for Jr success. The fact that Ariza was given ALLOT of credit for Manny success is NOT credit SR will be willing to give for ANY success Floyd has. His response has everything to do with that idea rather than some notion that he was fishing Ariza for info. and was unsuccessful. The fact is, Sr. never believed Jr needed any changes to his camp to prepare for Manny. Is all but said that is true based on his answer.

Floyd Mayweather Sr: You ain’t got to do nothing different for another opponent. Another opponent is just another opponent. I think the only thing he’s maybe done different is probably just working a little bit harder than before. There’s not too much that he’s doing different, I’m being honest. He’s doing everything he usually does, he might do it a little bit longer but it’s the same thing.
Jenna J: Does Alex Ariza participate in strengthening him? Is that something different that Floyd does?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: Strengthening him? That son of a ***** ain’t strengthening nobody. He ain’t nobody. He’s in there, I can’t say exactly what he’s doing but he ain’t strength training little Floyd. What Floyd’s doing everybody’s helping, it’s not just one person.
Jenna J: Does Ariza being there help at all in terms of gameplan, because he knew Pacquiao so well?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: He don’t know **** anyways, he don’t anything about no damn boxing, I do know that. I know he doesn’t know anything about boxing and he don’t know what to tell anyone anyways. I was talking about me not making excuses. I don't care who else makes them because fact is, excuses are for people who can't accept or don't want to see things from another perspective. Floyd made excuses, Pacquiao, Khan ad so forth but I don't and for me that is most important.

Floyd Mayweather Sr., father and trainer of WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., is not a big fan of strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza.

Ariza had previously worked for several years with Manny Pacquiao until he was fired by trainer Freddie Roach in 2012. Mayweather will face Pacquiao on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Ariza is working with Mayweather, helping with his current training camp. Mayweather Sr. disagrees with his worth in the gym.

Where's the part about Pacquiao?

Below is the only thing I read of what Sr had to say about Pacquiao before he went in on Ariza. I'm not sure why people think Sr cares about what Ariza knows about Manny. Despite peoples beliefs, Sr really really doesn't see Manny as a threat to Jr. I know, I know, some will respond by saying.."Sr was the one who made such a big deal out of Jr not fighting Manny due to possible PEDs. So that proves he felt Manny was a threat." This only proves that Sr felt that a fight between Jr and Manny at that time wouldn't have been a fair fight. Love him or hate him, Sr believes Manny stopped using PEDs after so much hoopla was made about it. Of course he can't prove it, but from his perspective, Manny abilities have changed since the PED fiasco and that's all that he sees. Because of that, he believes the playing field is now even and Manny is no threat.
Jenna J: You have been in camp with your son for over a month now in preparation for the fight with Manny Pacquiao. How have things gone so far?
Floyd Mayweather Sr: Frankly, I think Pacquiao is nothing but an opponent. I don’t think he’s no stiff threat to Floyd, I don’t think he’s no threat.

Man this dude Ariza has been fired by so many fighters and trainers and none have a nice thing to say about him. So no shock that people in the Mayweather camp are already not happy with him. Only a matter of time before Floyd fires him too. There is something about this guy that is sleazy and rubs people the wrong way.
