Geale has only fought at middleweight for 11 years and you can't expect a warrior of Cotto's stature to just go along with weight limits someone else made up.

Geale weighed 158 at his high school prom, that's not that long ago haters. More proof King Cotto will fight anyone.

I can't speak for anyone else so I will only defend myself here. I don't like catch weights but I learned a long time ago to not care about it if during negotiations both fighters agree to a CW then so be it. I never complained about Cotto/Pac being decided by the CW I was more concerned with PEDS, but at the end of the day Pac probably would beat Cotto anyway. True boxing fans know that boxers walk around weight is a minimum of 15lbs north of the class they fight in, Cotto is maxed out at 160 so when preping for a fight he has to avoid loosing too much weight unlike the rest of MW's. So do I think the CW in this fight is a good thing no, I believe Cotto should enter the ring at any weight below 160 if he wishes but allow the opponents to enter at 160. I feel he should have put a stipulation in the contract that both fighters not put on more then 5lbs over night after official weigh in.

Mad? How did you get that from my post? I liked Martinez a lot and I wasn't even rooting for him in that fight. I said Cotto was gonna win and I also said it was gonna be a corner stoppage late in the fight. Guess what ended up happening? Yup, who would had thought.

There wasn't and isn't anything to be mad about. I knew Sergio was done.

I don't think it's as much of hating Cotto than it is riding GGG's rod hard. GGG will some day be unified, leneal and undisputed great MW, of course he will still not be PPV worthy.

The only time a catch weight might be OK in a title fight, is if the champion is coming down in weight to accommodate a fighter moving up from a lower weight class. The catch weight is never OK if it is demanded by the champion as a condition for the fight. It should never be to the champion's benefit.

Let me see if I understood this right, you are saying CW fights should only be negotiated to favor the challenger. I always thought CW were negotiated to favor the more popular fighter, the so called A-side of an event.
