I never really saw a problem with them, but my wife absolutely detests the practice and has concinced me that they are offensive to female boxing fans (as well as female MMA fans).
Is it time to finally put an end to the use of ring girls in fighting sports?
Shoot if men could do something as simple as that and make that type of money we would too but society don't work like that

She just thinks it's kind of degrading. Then I responded "so cheerleaders in football, same deal?" to which she replied "absolutely."
Apparently dancing and strutting around in a minimal amount of clothing to appease a predominantly male audience bothers her a bit, especially considering the fact that we're probably not gonna see any dudes in banana hammocks carrying a round card during a female boxing match. To her, it reinforces the notion that she isn't supposed to watch boxing because it's a male sport for male fans. But tbh, she knows more about the sweet science than some of the guys on NSB.
I couldn't care either way. This might surprise some people, but I tune in for the fight.Last edited by Adamjr91; 04-13-2015, 05:22 AM.

Being one of the Top Rank Knockouts or the Corona Girls or whatever has not the same status and is probably not paid as good as beeing a UFC octagon girl, but it's a nice bonus. Most of them are quite successful in modeling.
I think it's a tradition and has nothing to do with ***ism except you are in Eastern Europe where the ring girls sometimes are looking like **********s or strippers.
