Why don't people get what Haymon is doing?

I keep seeing these arguments about how he's losing so much money. Blah blah blah. He has no advitisors. Etc.

Haymon has paid for 2 plus years of network TV air time already. Whether or not you like it or whether it fails or succeeds you will be watching the majority of boxing on PBC network tv cards for the next two years.

It takes time to build a brand. I kind of like it. People are simple minded and don't want to work for WHT they watch. Haymon wants people to see PBC and think big time boxing. The best. Whether it's true or not. If people actually began to associate with boxing like that all the haters are in trouble. He will get a big network deal. He will bring in new fans. He will make a profit. And he will be here to stay.

All this hate after 3 card is sickening. We are what. 2 months into a 24 month deal. Enjoy free boxing and quit worrying about a long term venture is profitable after 3 off 100 plus cards. Christ.

Boxing fans in general are like that, nothing is ever good enough it has to be just right.

I would say boxing fans are like Goldilocks, but even that ***** wasn't that picky.

I get that but the main argument is 1) he's not profitable and 2) he's spending to much money.

          I mean what! WTF!

You have to realize that most of the people who post on this site are simpleminded people. They cannot relate to what Haymon is doing.

You are right. It does take time to build a brand. You know that. I know that. The investors who invested in PBC know that, just as the investors who invested in Microsoft, Apple and even the UFC knew that. All serious investors know that it will take two to three years before they see a profit from any new company or venture that they have invested in.

However, the simpletons on this site think that every new business should make a profit from the start or it is a failure, so they think that the PBC and Roc Nation are complete failures.

I hope the PBC is a huge success, but even if it is not, I appreciate the fact that it will help provide up with as much boxing on television as we see of pro baseball, football or basketball per year. And just like those other professional sports, we will see some mismatches, but we will also get to see some great quality contests.

The simpletons who criticize Haymon either don't understand that or just looking for an excuse to criticize him because he is associated with Floyd Mayweather.

Last time it was bad enough with someone bringing in the WWE as a comparison, but now Microsoft and Apple? Seriously? Maybe you should check the history of those companies and see how many people invested in them. It would have been extremely difficult to do so before they went public. And Bill Gates did not become the richest man in the world by losing hundreds of millions of dollars before turning a profit.

And do we really need yet another thread on this? Seriously?

I like what Haymon's doing. It's free boxing for me and that's awesome because I can actually watch it on my big TV without paying for cable package.

But, I understand he's trying to clean up boxing's image with all the changes made to the presentation of the typical boxing match we'd catch on HBO or Showtime. HOWEVER, I think at it's core, a dude's face is getting busted up, bloodied, mangled, and possibly permanently damaged is still there in full HD glory. I think THAT is what a lot of people are more turned off to than a simple ring card girl walking a card over her head or fighter entrance music...

It also takes a good product, it's the latter part people are unhappy with. So far, Thurman-Guerrero aside, it just hasn't been that good.
