An out of prime, old Floyd who wanted to trade against Maidana. How many times did Floyd stood in front of Corrales (a huge taller puncher who said back in the time he would crush floyd) without moving again ? oh well, zero

Corrales couldn't trap like Kovalev does, nor control distance. Floyd was on the ropes against Castillo plenty though. It'd be a terrible style mismatch for a "Mayweather type". Sorry, I know it hurts that Kovalev keeps schooling and knocking out certain fighters.

          Pascal is a pathetic crybaby.

Kovalev dominated the fight, he won every round and destroyed Pascal.

But because Pascal began to "act naughty" (i.e. during the 5th and the 6th rounds), the Russian cut the story short...
U say that Kovalev wanted the extra rounds with someone as viable as Pascal and therefore tapered off a bit to make it go longer , but then u stated that he tried to execute Pascal in the 3rd ??? What a contradiction in terms ! Kovalev deserves a lot of credit for dismantling Pascal , but attempting to give him EXTRA on top of what he already deserves has u sounding foolish on here . The fight went 8 rounds for two reasons , 1) a bit of luck (round 3 ended before Kovalev could finish him) and 2) Pascals toughness ! So stop trying to take the only credit that Pascal deserves and hand that to Kovalev also u turd !

Pascal is a warrior, man. He might be painful to listen to, but he leaves it all in the ring.

So if hes that good to close distance how come he couldnt trap a 50 years old fighter during 12 freaking rounds. To me the two only like of Kovalev (who is a beast btw), is that he is way too often to counterpunches (Pascal landed many but his power is lacking to get respected), and his feets are slow and robotics. So a great athletic fighter with a longer reach, good counterpunches and fast footwork is the only style I see causing Kovalev trouble, the opposite of what youre saying.

Kovalev crushes guys who stay in front of him, lacks footwork, go on the ropes, brawlers, in-fighters, etc...

He trapped Hopkins within the first round for God's sake.

Sillakh fits your description pretty well, and ended up badly knocked out. There is no one style to beat Kovalev, you simply have to be better than him and have a rock solid chin while doing so because he will touch you no matter what kind of defense you have.

The article even says Pascal alludes to how much Kovalevs shots affected him!!
Yeah, he did make excuses. He said that the perforated eardrum affected his balance, which gave the impression that he was shaken by Kovalev's punches. He also mentioned the blurred vision affecting him, without really saying that Kovalev caused that too. He's not owning up to the fact that it was Kovalev's punches which put him in that imbalanced, blurred-vision state. It's ridiculous. It's like saying, "Yeah, if I hadn't somehow gotten my ass kicked, I could have won the fight."
