Apparently HBO won't host Cotto's next fight unless Canelo is guaranteed next.

Cotto should take the deal. It's not bad and will make him a lot of money.

He still has that Daddy Yankee concert money on the side.

Cotto vs K9 would do better numbers than GGG is getting, Cotto after getting slaughtered by Manny got the best rating of the year on HBO facing Foreman. He has no problems getting numbers either and HBO even has no problems putting that fight up if they get Cotto/Canelo anyway. Gold standard my ass, they'll put on sparring sessions if they get money for it at some point. They're no different than Showtime and Haymon lol.
uhmmm, last time I checked the main focus of HBO was attracting VIEWERS, so I'd guess that they would show 24 rounds of GGG doing mitts and Canelo doing bag work if they thought people would watch.....

So now Cotto who fought the best out there Money, Pac, Margacheater, Mosley just to name a few is now afraid of Canelo?? GGG??

Hahaha you guys are joking right??

So I ask, who has GGG beaten that he is soooo good??
        And Canelo??

Having a fan following does not mean you are the best.....

Why no one wants to see Canelo vs GGG??? Winner takes Cotto??
I mean Canelo is soooo good right??
At the end of a career after suffering beatings from Pac, Margarito, and Floyd. Not to mention getting outboxed by Austin Trout, yes. He is afraid of Golovkin.

Why are you asking who have so and so beaten? We want to beat your man because he's sooooooo good, but he's scared right now with his tail between his legs.

You missed the point that HBO doesn't seem worried about whether Canelo will accept the fight.

They just want to make sure Cotto will.

Over your head, once again. The guy mentioned HBO being a gold standard, I wasn't talking to you and you're mad about something completely unrelated to what you're thinking.

You're still upset about Canelo walking out on negotiations? I'll post what I always do in regards to that.

Canelo HAD to fight on May 2nd in Vegas. Instead, he settled for May 9th in Houston and all because he was afraid to fight June in NY. Canelo openly said he would move the date of the Manny fight, his proposal was to face Cotto on PPV the very next week after a $100 PPV? Cotto knew how ****** that would be and said June 6th... Here we are 2.5 months from June and it's Canelo with the opponent not Cotto. It was Canelo who left negotiations not Cotto, just stop.

Floyd's name doesn't even belong in the same category of the May/Marg victories. Those fights ended in KO's with Cotto's nose bloody at the end... Floyd was the only bleeding after facing Cotto, nice try though.

When I say "gold standard", what I mean is that HBO is not keen on making Garcia/Salka type fights. Especially for those who aren't under contract with HBO.

With that said, Canelo/Kirkland is a solid fight in terms of entertainment and viewership value to HBO.

GGG is doing solid #'s for HBO as well and is fighting whomever is willing to get into the ring with him. Like he said..."he cant kidnap fighters (Cotto) and make them fight him. Its not as if he's ducking anyone and asking HBO to give him subpar opponents instead.
