He's trained established fighters. But never from ground up. I just think Roach is relying too much on "maybes." Guerrero thought Floyd legs were shot based on his Cotto fight and made a whole gameplan out of that notion. Turns out they weren't shot at all. Roach can't control how Floyd is going to fight come fight night. But he can control how Pac fights. So he needs to focus on Pacs mistakes. Not Floyds.
    great...great...post

My trainer always told me its not about what the guy across you is gonna do, its about how you will fix your mistakes and bad habits, while capitalizing ON the opponents

you sir sound like someone who has actually been in a boxing gym...unlike most the casuals here on NSB

Really Roach has no idea which Floyd he'll be fighting on May2nd. Floyd has many skillful tricks he can. Pull out of his hat opposed to Manny not only must fight the perfect fight but also have a plan A, B, C, & D to try to remember. Yes, Roach has his job cut out for him.

like I said when this fight was signed, this is Freddie Roach's hardest assignment of his career................no catchweights, no recent losses on the opponents ledger, no career beatdowns in his last 3-5 fights

Mayweather is 38, but when have you ever seen him tired, gassed or couldn't change gears?

His legs are not shot, he hopes they are because Pacquiao isn't adept at cutting off the ring

Manny couldn't kayo featherfisted B- fighter in Algieri but he will drop or Kayo the best defensive fighter of the generation as well as the best of this generation? Yea freaking right

As time goes on Roach is illustrating that he doesn't know how to go about coming up with a game plan because Mayweather can do it all in the ring.

Cant wait til may 2nd, All the bravado of Roach isn't gonna change that Mayweather was always a superior fighter to Pacquaio

I couldn't agree with you more...

This is the 2nd article that's caused me to question whether or not Roach is getting paid to make excuses for Floyd, just in case he loses to Pacquiao.

          I hope I'm wrong.

You just described Pac-Bradley, both fights

First fight vs Maidana. Laid on the ropes and got beat up a lot. Looked old, tired, and ineffective.

Mayweather>Bradley....faster, more elusive, more accomplished, longer reach, he hits harder, has better technique, better stamina, and ring IQ, faster legs and hands, he is just a level above Bradley who is a very good fighter

did you watch the fight? After round 5-6 Mayweather stayed in ring center and Maidana was lucky to win a round during that time.

I'm sure didn't watch fight 2 where he was lucky to win 3 rounds

He didn't look all that great the second time around either. Just was lucky to be fighting a C class caveman again. Just ran and clinched all night, didn't really do anything impressive offensively. Even still, he got countered with a massive right hand in the third and was still hurt by the fourth and was laying on the ropes getting beat up again that round.

His reflexes and legs are shot and his stamina has been questionable his last few fights. Maybe he has one more great performance left in him at age 38, who knows? Maybe Memo will have him find the fountain of youth.

                Only time will tell.

you do realize Mayweather and Bradley fight nothing alike, nor does Maidana and Pacquaio

Lol, the great Bradley got beat up from pillar to post by Provodnikov who lost to wholly average Algeiri and beat nobody of note his whole career...Who? Alvarado who has like 2 decent wins his whole career

so, basically you are saying that Bradley is a better fighter than Mayweather is today and if they fight that Bradley would win?

just the fact that Maidana gave him 2 razor close tough fights tells you pac will destroy Mayweather. Maidana is B class at best, he's lost to alexander, Khan and Kotelink, even Morales taxed him bad, old fat Morales.

As for his favorite punch, Jab to the body. Pac will time a left hand.
