I'm not. I figured the casual fan who like to bet would put a lot on Manny to win, especially when he opened as a 3-1 underdog.

Yea there is a lot more money going with hearts and than going with heads and that is real easy to justify when you are getting odds. And if you think the fight is 50/50 you are right to take the odds.

The intelligent money almost always comes last because you want as much info as possible before you make your move, you would have also followed how the line has moved maybe not hitting the perfect time but getting close enough.

Looks like a bit too much of a good thing.

Everyone wants to bet on the underdog to the point that they will make him a favorite unintentionally.

I think i know what you mean when you say smart money comes last because of info and all but let say all goes well and smooth on Floyd and Pac's camp. no hitch or hiccups at all

does Floyd becomes a better fighter the better the betting odds he gets and Pac becomes a lesser fighter if the betting odds are against him?

is it correct to say that no matter what the betting odds are Floyd will be Floyd and Pac will be Pac.

Odds have nothing to do with that sort of thing, odds are just a reflection of what the public needs on the fight to bet a lot. Sports books normally want the money to come in even and then just take their cut on very high volume, no risk on them then.

The odds do not mean much though, other than how the public feels.

Every single boxing spokesmans whether it's a fighter, trainer, conditioning coach, writer, or even other athletes, celebrities, they are all picking Mayweather and saying, BUT Pacquiao still dangerous. Your telling me Pacquiao is the favorite on the betting? I smell BS.

For such a fight that is 50/50 in many eyes, when you read between the lines, Mayweather has been either picked to win or the favorite to win and Pacquiao is just, he has a punchers chance?
i smell something fishy with these "vegas odds". Doesn't seem right that the "undefeated TBE" would be the "underdog" against pacquiao... If we follow the "records" of the fighters etc etc etc floyd should be the favorite going into the fight or at least close odds, but imo floyd being the "underdog" is laughable.

evenly matched fight... maybe... styles makes fights for me... but betting odds which would include their record, who they fought etc etc etc floyd should be the favorite. But I see what some other poster wrote that they are gonna be so much on pac and unintentionally make him the favorite.

There's not a chance in hell Floyd opens at a 3/1 favorite, and closes as the underdog. The amount of money required to move a line that far would be ridiculous.

If Floyd gets down to -160 or better, there's going to be millions of dollars bet on him.
