Serious question pac fans please explain this to me

How can you guys legitimately predict a kayo win for Manny over Mayweather?

1)Mayweather hits harder, and is harder to hit than Algieri, Bradley, and Rios at 147 and he wasn't very successful at cutting off the ring to stop any of them. Rios comes right at you so cutting off the ring isn't really necessary in his case

    2) Manny hasn't scored a knockout in over 5 years

    3) Mayweather has the best defense of this generation and his ring IQ is on a different level than anyone else as well

Not to deflate the hype bubble, because I know I'm just as excited as the next guy for the fight, but has anybody here wondered on a scale from 1-10 about how exciting the fight is going to be in considering the hype (as the status of a superfight)?

When I think back to superfights in history (a superfight being a bout that becomes so anticipated it transcends boxing and crosses into mainstream attention), how many of them have actually lived up to the hype and been lived up to its lofty expectations and/or surpassed them? I'm talking about a "superfight", as opposed to a "fight fan's dream", which...can actually be more entertaining and really anticipated amongst the boxing community and SEEN as a superfight among them, but doesn't actually get mainstream attention (ie: Cotto/Margarito I, Garcia/Matthysse, Kirkland/Angulo). I'm not a history buff, but I can list maybe a few fights that were superfights (or would've been by today's standards). As an added note, I'm only counting the first bouts in a trilogy, since they tend to generate much more pre-fight anticipation than rematches (regardless of rematch interest)...

          Louis-Schmeling I
          Ali-Frazier I
          Ali-Foreman
          Chávez-Whitaker
          De la Hoya-Trinidad
          Leonard-Hearns I
          Leonard-Hagler
          Tyson-Holyfield
          Tyson-Lewis
          De la Hoya-Mayweather
          Mayweather-Canelo

And out of all of these, perhaps the only ones that were actually competitive and left fans happy as they walked away were Ali-Frazier I, Ali-Foreman, and both of Leonard's fights.

Ali's fight with Frazier ended up being closely contested punctuated by a flash knockdown, effectively erasing any doubt anybody had whether or not Joe was ahead in the fight.

Ali-Foreman, regardless of who you were rooting for, did not disappoint because of the dramatic turn-around. Ali was the underdog, Ali was getting pummeled, and...Ali dropped Foreman.

Leonard-Hearns didn't disappoint. You had the drama, technique and power that you want to see. You had heart and chin on display, as well as role reversal with Tommy boxing and Leonard stalking, and the spectacular ending that few, if any, foresaw.

Leonard-Hagler I placed on the list, and as I sit down and write this now, I'm not sure whether to consider this as a fight that lived up to the hype. It wasn't as dramatic as the others, but people remember it more because of Leonard's showmanship and craftiness by stealing rounds. It's not to say it was disappointing, but this is perhaps the weakest of the four I have picked from the original list.

I really can't see Pac-Mayweather cracking that list. It's one of those situations where the build-up and anticipation will absolutely dwarf the fight itself.

Louis-Schmeling 2 will always be the biggest fight in the history of the sport. I just saw an interview of Arum saying Ali-Frazier 1 was as big as it gets but when the President of the US personally asks you to win for your country.........doesn't get any bigger than that.

Tyson vs Spinks was a superfight, albeit a forgotten one. imo more celebrities at ringside than any fight I remember

Back on subject imo the only way Manny can beat Floyd is to slowly bust him up through the fight, like he has done with many other (worthy) opponents. Cotto almost managed it, Ortiz was doing a good job until he lost his head..

Correct. Their styles don't match up good enough for it to crack that list. There have been wild predictions on both sides from Mayweather dying in the ring to PAC pulling a "no mas" lol but no one is calling a "WAR" and that's what it would take to crack that list ...
