Did you even take the time to read the post that I quoted, or did you simply look at the phrase 'Mayweather will look at destroy pacquiao' and assume that I believe that's what's going to happen?
I hope so, but I dont think it will. I think it could be quite frustrating to watch with floyd looking to tie up manny and complain to the ref any time Manny gets near. The referee's performance will be critical in this fight, we need a strong one who isnt going to stand any crap from floyd, such as offering the back of his head and then complaining when he gets hit(something that has been a bit of a theme with floyd), the elbowing/forearm smashes etc.
Is Ariza actually helping to prepare Mayweather? Looking at the pictures and videos he's doing the stuff he usually does and Ariza doesn't seem to be present in them...
So the guy with a shorter reach and the guy who should want to dictate the pace and disrupt the opponents rhythm is gonna fight off the back foot?
This whole conversation was initiated by the fact that a lot of the talk coming out out the Mayweather Camp is that he is going to be aggressive and come forward in the fight, which dramatically changes the dynamic
I don't think anyone is saying he is going to box the full 12, or at least I am not, but at times I believe he should/will go on the back foot. Cotto found some of his best punches on Floyd off the back foot, Floyd like all fighters is vulnerable when he is coming forward and thinking about landing. Manny is one of the few fighters who has the attributes to take advantage of it. Of course for big parts of the fight he will come forward and put pressure on Floyd. I think a lot will be dictated by the first couple of rounds and who can control the distance, Manny I think offsets some of the things that Floyd does well because of his tremendous foot speed.
You took his post out of context. He's saying Mayweather will TRY to dominate and force Manny back but it likely won't work because Manny's not the guy you want to trade with.
Floyd lowers punch output and connect % of his opponent
Manny keeps fighting to win and wont fight "to not get KO'd" like a lot of Floyd's opponents
Since I assume these will both happen, I am left to wonder what happens when Manny deals with being behind on the cards (because his punch output is lowered and he isn't connecting at a high rate, thus losing rounds) yet still trying to get the KO win. Maybe he lands something. Maybe Floyd has the pressure you discussed and he tries for the KO win and gets caught.
If these constants hold true, Floyd will fight as he always does with a lead on the cards. This means Manny is forced to continue following him around the ring, yet where he may have been more cautious before, now he is forced to go for broke because he is down on the cards.
If we get the Floyd from maidana 1 or 2, I think Manny chances of winning are very good. If we get the Floyd that fought Canelo, then I think Manny is in real trouble.
I agree with most of that. Lets face it if Floyd boxes and decides to move backwards there isn't a whole lot Manny can do in my opinion. If Floyd comes forward the fight gets much closer. I think a lot will depend on the first two rounds, which I think the majority will be spent in the middle of the ring. When Floyd fights in the middle of the ring he has been utterly dominant, it is like the other fighter is stuck in mud, for the majority of his career it has been like this. I wonder if this will be the case with Pacquiao who has also dominated most fighters in the middle of the ring, with the exception of Marquez.

Thank you. Not sure why it's so difficult for people to comprehend things before they post.
