Comments Thread For: Murray: I Know I Might Get Hurt, But I'll Beat Golovkin

LONDON - World middleweight title challenger Martin Murray has heard all about the reputation of Gennady Golovkin, his next opponent, and respects the fact he's widely considered the hardest puncher in all of boxing right now. But that doesn't mean the Briton is overawed or fearful of the imposing Kazakh.

In fact, rather than hide from the reality of the situation, Murray has instead confronted it head on and says he's looking forward to sampling Golovkin's power when the pair clash on Saturday (February 21) in Monte Carlo.

I think people are really underestimating Murray here. This is a boxer who has never been down in his career. He is the toughest opponent Golovkin has ever faced. He really beat Sturm and Martinez. This fight could go into the championship rounds and anything can happen from there

I think murray has a really good chance of surviving the distance, but he won't win. He can't take enough rounds away from ggg imo.

And what would you say if GGG ko's him in the first 6 rounds? Will you give him his credit,or will you go the path that this site likes to take, and claim that Murray was nothing but a bum?

yeah people underrate murray if all things were right and proper he'd be an undefeated and unified champ right now having won belts off both Sturm and Martinez.

But will he beat GGG? Not a chance.

Seems to me he is saying he knows he will most likely get beaten up but he is going to try his best and be optimistic.

No Murray and Golovkin are both good fighters. Full credit to the winner

I believe there is a chance. I'm not saying Murray will win but it is possible

There is no point going into a ring if you are not confident in yourself. I hope he puts on a good show but I think GGG will eventually break him down.
