    If it happens it's going to be on Mexican Independence Weekend, it's definitely not going to be on the weekend of Cinco de Mayo.

    A fight this huge needs a lot more time to promote.

      I don't know, hes made some of the biggest fights happen, and made plenty of boxers, rich. Hes as much a snake as any other boxing promoter. They all see $$$ first.

      I disagree. I think that meeting at the basketball game was all the promotion they need.

        I'm not sure if you understand the process.

        In these types of negotiations lawyers from both parties hash out one version of the contract that they believe is acceptable to both parties. One copy is presented to Mayweather for signature, one to Pacquiao, and as long as both parties sign their copies the fight can take place. This is how it usually happens 95% of the time.

        In rare circumstances Pacquiao or Mayweather may reject the contract. If that's the case then the contract is rewritten and offered to the other fighter for signature, and the original contract if signed by one of the fighters is null and void. The process begins again.

        You state that their "waiting on a signed contract from Floyd" makes me believe that you think their is 1 piece of paper that both parties sign. This is simply not true. Furthermore we now know that there is no contract in existence.

        ONLY if a contract is written up presented to both parties and Pacquiao signs his and Floyd doesn't would your statement make any sense whatsoever.

        Not ripping you just think you may have a misunderstanding. Cheers.

          Manny's own adviser has admitted there isn't a contract, yet, Manny fans still say Manny has agreed to all terms. Implying Mayweather is "ducking, scared, a coward".

            "Should I tell them that there is no contract?"

            "Arumzini will know this without being told"

            "Arumzini? But I thought it was Pacqtaglia?"

            "Pacqtaglia is a puppet he could have never outsmarted the masses using the media. I didn't know till this day..... that it was Arumzini all along."

                  This fight has been promoted for nearly six years! They don't need any more time to promote it. Every boxing fan already knows these two and their on going saga.

                    Mayweather-Pacquiao deal done ***8216;in next couple days***8217;

                    By George Willis
                    January 30, 2015 | 1:00pm

                    Top Rank promoter Bob Arum expects negotiations on a mega-fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather to be finalized in ***8220;the next couple days,***8221; the strongest indication the much-anticipated bout finally will become a reality.

                    ***8220;Everybody is doing the right thing,***8221; Arum told The Post on Friday. ***8220;We***8217;re looking to complete the paperwork. Everything is moving in the right direction. Hopefully, the next couple of days it will get done.***8221;

                    All major points have been agreed to, according to sources close to the negotiations. The remaining issues concern network involvement. Mayweather has an exclusive agreement with Showtime, while Pacquiao is tied to HBO. Sources at both networks have said they won***8217;t stand in the way of what will be the richest fight in boxing history.

                    ***8220;The issues are being narrowed down to extraordinarily small points,***8221; Arum said. ***8220;I***8217;m optimistic it will all be put together in the next couple of days.***8221;

                    Speculation on an impending agreement grew when the two boxers met face to face at a Heat game in Miami this week and later spent an hour in Pacquiao***8217;s hotel suite discussing the proposed bout.

                    ***8220;I think it helped a lot because we were all putting papers together, and there was still a question as to whether Floyd really wanted to do the fight or not,***8221; Arum said. ***8220;Based on the meeting with Pacquiao in the hotel suite, Manny and [Pacquiao adviser] Michael Koncz were convinced Floyd absolutely wants to do the fight.***8221;

                    The pay-per-view bout is tentatively scheduled for May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and expected to generate somewhere between $250 million and $300 million. A showdown between the two welterweights was first negotiated in 2009, but the two sides reached an impasse over drug testing procedures. Since then, egos, money and personality clashes have derailed any attempts to match the fighters.

                    But after defeating Long Island longshot Chris Algieri in November in Macau, Pacquiao publicly challenged Mayweather, saying, ***8220;I think it***8217;s time to make that fight happen. The fans really deserve that fight.***8221;

                    Pacquiao and Mayweather have been the best fighters of their era. Mayweather, unbeaten in 47 bouts with 26 knockouts, is considered the pound-for-pound king, while Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs) has captured titles in eight different weight classes.

                    A Mayweather-Pacquiao bout seemed to lose some appeal when Pacquiao was knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in December 2012. But the Filipino congressman has restored his standing as one of the sport***8217;s elite fighters with recent wins over Brandon Rios, Timothy Bradley and Algieri.

                    Arum had hoped Mayweather-Pacquiao would take place in a larger venue than the MGM Grand, where tickets figure to be hard to get even for the wealthy.

                    ***8220;To me it doesn***8217;t do boxing justice being in a small arena like that,***8221; Arum said. ***8220;But if that***8217;s what it takes to make the fight, that***8217;s what we***8217;ll do.***8221;
