Golden Boy Promotions has made it abundantly clear Saul “Canelo” Alvarez desires to fight Miguel Cotto on Cinco de Mayo weekend, regardless if Mayweather continues to fight on the same weekend, which he has been campaigning on since 2007. Many boxing insiders believe a bout between Alvarez and Cotto is the second biggest matchup that can be made in today’s current world of boxing outside of a Mayweather-Pacquiao bout. I dont understand, if May is willing to offer Cotto 40 mill, wont it be ridiculous if he tries to defend the 40 mil offer for Pacquiao...not even his friends and fans should be able to defend that.

Its BS if it's for one fight but I can see this being a packaged deal with Haymon or even a rematch clause should he win. If Cotto were to beat Floyd the rematch could hit over 2 million buys. It's obvious Floyd's side is in talks with Cotto or the Canelo deal probably would have been done already, I'm not sure which fight ends up happening.

40 million would have to be for a signing deal..Mayweather and Cotto are in talks people do not be fooled..that is why the canelo talks are on hold and anything that is leaked will be said to be false, just like when there were talks of him fighting Ortiz and he kept saying it was false...trust they are in talks
