I don't think Canelo has the style to beat Cotto, I honestly don't, and I agree that Cotto is more technical. Canelo is bigger though and maybe a bit faster, a bit fresher too, and those ingredients could be the equaliser. I think it's very competitive no matter who you pick.
Normally when Cotto is allowed to fight at his own pace he has a good night, and Canelo doesn't really set a pace, but I think Canelo will be a much stronger fighter at 160.

Cotto is, even at this stage, quicker then Canelo, has better footwork, probably hits harder and is far smarter in the ring. Canelo is big and strong but his size is often overestimated, the guy is 5'7''. Cotto will out work him and win.

A team with the collective experience of Cotto and Roach are not gonna' take a fight that they don't see some way to score the win. They both know Cotto can be wobbled and that Canelo has pretty good power. Think they are not putting their heads together to mitigate that risk? Think Cotto wants to take a brutal and protracted beating at this stage of his career?

I feel pretty confident Alvarez wins. Cotto's defense isn't good enough for Alvarez's offense and size.

cotto won't be standing in front of canelo, that'd be to canelos advantage. canelo has both speed and power so he'll be doing the angles / back foot thing and reset but can he do that for the 12?
