Comments Thread For: Fury's Promoter Feels Good About Klitschko Shot

British/EBU heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (23-0, 17KOs) is hoping to get unified champion Wladimir Klitschko in the ring by the fall of next year. Fury's promoter Mick Hennessy feels good about their chances in getting that opportunity.

Fury is now the mandatory challenger, under the WBO, to Klitschko. He returns on February 28th against rugged contender Christian Hammer. Klitschko is likely back on April 25th against top contender Bryant Jennings.

Of course he is confident,he knows Klitschko has nothing to worry about facing Fury and the champ isn't vacating jack.all this nonsense spun by Fury is just fear he won't get his career high purse by facing the champ.

The only heavyweight I see that has a chance of beating klitschko is deontay wilder, that guy has some serious ko power and if he found his chin it would be lights out, Tyson fury stands no chance

Wlad wants to be the unified, undisputed heavyweight champ, so he won't vacate the WBO belt to avoid Fury.

I don't know for sure, but I think that what the Furys are worried about is the possibility of the WBO giving Wlad a pass on his mandatory so he can go for the winner of Stiverne/Wilder after getting Jennings out of the way, and Wlad then retiring as unified champ.

It won't surprise me at all if that's what happens. Wlad is pushing 40 with a movie star missus and God knows how much money in the bank.

One thing I do know for sure - Peter Fury turned down one offer to fight Wlad 3 years ago because Tyson wasn't ready. He won't turn down another if it comes.

          Merry Xmas Scott.

vlad will probably make fury wait a lot longer than 3 months if he thinks hes getting that fight in september It will more likely be 2016 he'll probably have some old injuries treated and some time off.

For the most part I agree with your post.Wlad wants to unify at the earliest opportunity,I expect the WBO will give Wlad more time if he can arrange a fight with the WBC champion after April,it's a win win for the WBO he pays his sanctioning fees to them every fight, they get an added defence before a mandated defence in fees.

Fury and his fans, yourself included really need to rest at ease,Fury will get his shot.Wlad isn't retiring or vacating.it is simply the order of things,Pulev had to wait,Povetkin too,Wlad is fighting mediocre defences between his mandatories, all in his attempts to secure his legacy.

Imagine Wlad ducked a guy his own size and retired,it would stick with him like it will stick with Floyd avoiding Manny when his career is a wrap.be patient,it will happen,it may not be until late 2015 or early 2016 but it will happen.Wlad has absolutely no reason to call time on his career,he has already stated he wants to fight in the olympics in 2016,don't worry.

Canelo would crush Brook just as Cotto would. Brook is a good welterweight but 154 is strong so just keep him at 147. Canelo is a very good boxer and Brook can't outbox him. Canelo can take Brook's best punches but Brook can't take what Canelo would hit him with. Canelo by early KO in my opinion.

Sorry, I put my post in the wrong place and it belongs in the thread about Canelo fighting Brook. I must not be fully awake yet.
