mayweather was'nt in to good of shape himself plus had a stomach virus. bring it on cotto with any trainer. same results or worse. there's no blue print

The hell with that, I want Cotto vs Canelo and nothing else. Cotto is pissing me off with this picky bs. Hopefully he decides to make this fight happen.

Cotto is the BOSS here. He is the man with the title, Canelo needs him fore credibility. If Cotto asks him to wear a tiara to the ring, HE HAS TO DO SO. Otherwise, NO FIGHT. Cotto doesn't need Canelo at all.

usually, "no one dictates to us" translates to "we dont want the fight unless we get paid because there's a good chance we will lose the fight" but thats just my opinion

Cotto can afford to wait here, which is why his advisor is saying a decision won't be made until mid-January. Really, we probably won't see any big fight finalized until 2015.

Another thing to consider, it doesn't appear Cotto is that willing to go up against a Mayweather PPV on May 2nd, especially if it's May vs Pac. He's always seemed business minded. I haven't seen anything where Miguel or his team are all about May 2nd, guessing he could care less about helping Alvarez take back Cinco de Mayo weekend. Food for thought.

I concur. Ill add though that Canelo will always be there for cotto. As for the rematch cotto becomes god/dragon slayer if he wins. Floyd becomes gods as well with the attainment of mw belt.

Beercules. We cannot ignore that before cotto waxed Martinez he was extremely feared. Even quasi crippled everyone thought cotto was insane for taking the fight. I quote "a 60% Martinez takes cottos head off". That was stated a trillion times on this site. Point is may has much more to gain in every respect in a rematch as opposed to fighting khan etc...

Not saying cotto wins but the fight would be way different now. And cotto gave may hell the first time around. Win or lose may comes out with much more tha. A bloody nose and bruised ribs.
