Why is Rigo so overhyped on here?

To put a final grade on him it would be more definitive to see him under some duress. If he handles everyone and theres a certain talent level with his opposition than theres not much you can say about him. As for him "moving up"! He already has moved up. He is a bantamweight (118) who moved to super bantam (122) at 126 he will give away a lot of body mass and when the feathers rehydrate he will be giving away size and weight.
It's up to him to try and see if his talents can over ride giving up so much body mass and strength. If he wants to earn it looks like he has to make the move!
He is the only boxer that currently adds the label "boxing artist" to his name.
Ray.
You know hes a serious quality operator if Ray holds him such high regard & he gets Ray's stamp of approval!

Those guys actively avoiding a fight with him tells the story, they themselves know they can't beat him.

rigo is an ATG skillful fighter and his resume is extremely good and vastly underrated.
- donaire
- agbeko
- cordoba
- kokietgym
- casey
- ramos
- marroquin
- kennedy
those are all very very good wins. rigo just needs one more good win (santa cruz or frampton) and he is a certified first ballot HOF'er without a doubt.Last edited by Divine Hammer; 11-28-2014, 05:51 PM.

I agree that he is abit overrated.
He has holes in his game such as his weak jab and seen him dropped and hurt a few times and also I've yet to see any inside game from him. His resume is also weak.
That said, he is a very good fighter and one of the best in the world.

Loma impresses me more, but to each his own I guess.

Rigondeaux doesn't really have any fan base, just like how Eddie Hearn described Ward "He couldn't fill his own living room If he tried"
Albeit I think he was overly harsh on Ward because most people will know who he is but less are going to be familiar with Rigo.
We can't take things off of assumptions its that simple, If he wasn't as boring as making people walk out during his fights take place then we'd likely get to see the fights he craves.

I think Rigo plays off of the sympathy vote with a lot of users on here because nobody really cares about him.

Therein lies the problem, those guys can fight scrubs and make big money. Why fight a guy who will beat your ass when you can fight far lesser opposition and get paid the same? Take a look at Quigg's latest opponents, Santa Cruz's latest opponent....it's awful.
Padded records and easy money are put in front of being the best.
