Respect to Kovalev! I have been critical in the past on his stamina and adjustments, but he made Bernard adjust the whole night at 50 yrs old - Hopkins looked spent in the post fight interview, looked drained. Big Ups to Bhop / Executioner / X / Alien - this man has been fighting professionally since 1988 - think of all the great athletes that have come and gone since 1988 and this guys did it in one of the most grueling sports. Kovalev followed instruction he worried Hopkins he stalked him and made him exert a lot of energy, and he beat his body and arms up pretty bad also, but Kovalev's patience was also a deciding factor .

This is the same Hopkins who ran and barely engaged Calzaghe only difference was he was much older and engaged even less against Kov..
he fought the main guy in his division that other champs and contenders ducked. Yet you are here crying, all butthurt.

          The straight definition of delusional.
It's a cognitive bias by Westerners. If it isn't slick, quick and performing all the same moves as a Floyd Mayweather, James Toney or some of the lower-end Boxer-movers, then it automatically has to be one-dimensional, slow/plodding.

They fail to recognize the subtle little things that are part of the skill set just because the guy isn't "cute" in the ring. Hell, "expert" trainers like Roger and Floyd senior may say the same thing. To them, if it isn't mid-western or east-coast, it's a BUM no matter how many times they kick their favorite fighters ass.

Props to Bhop for taking Kovalev but at 50, the beating he took at the last round will hunt him, that was severe. The ref and Naz are both idi ots for letting Bhop finish the last round. Outcome was expected but not the 12th round assault...If Floyd fights 3G, same thing is going to happen.

So B-Hop can fight this killer at 49 years old... but... Mayweather still has excuses for not fighting Pacquiao and Andre Ward couldn't move up one division after beating everyone at 68' to fight Kovalev but could fight Edwin Rodriguez...

All props to Kovalev for shutting Hopkins out. After watching the fight i think Kovalev would have beaten a 40 year old Hopkins the way he performed tonight. Hopkins age had nothing to do with the outcome of this fight. Now the question is who can challenge Kovalev at LHW.

I guess that you're living proof that some people are slow learners. Wait and see if Ward even steps up to face Sergey, but don't hold your breath as it will be a long, long, long time coming.

I guess Hopkins' racist ass will have to revisit that line where he said something like... "A white boy will never beat me..."

Calzaghe dominated him and now Kova...
