If Arum said 2.75, then please break down how DeGuardia's guarantee to Algieri is 1.5 million. You've obviously been recipient of professional fight prizes. I would really like to learn more details on how it works. Particularly how DeGuardia's guarantee to Algieri's is 1.5 million in relation to Arum's 2.75 claim. Thanks
Pretty clear the 1.5 is his cut of the 2.7. Like I said his promoter wanted a whole lot more before thy signed the fight

You didn't answer the question. If Arum is paying a 2.75 million dollar expense for Algieri, then how did DeGuardia come up with 1.5 million?

Ive always wondered why Floyd is the highest paying boxer but his opponents does not get as much as if they were fighting Pacquiao and Pac is the 2nd highest paying boxer

Just read today that in addition to the $1.5 Million DeGuardia is paying Aligieri, Bob Arum will also be paying Algieri $2.75 Million for a grand total of $4,250,000. That's a pretty good payday considering that his earnings for Provodnikov was at $100,000.

Here's the quote from Bob Arum:

"Manny's purse, from various sources, is guaranteed to be not less than $20 million," said Arum. "But what Chris is getting, that's up to his promoter, but I'm paying him $2.75 million."

HeroBando delivered the right interpretation of Arum's statement...

Algieri gets ppv because arum knows this fight isn't dependent on ppv....

The purses are guaranteed by casinos and other sponsors from macau....

It's also hard to believe that Algieri is gonna get paid over 2 mil.

All these kind of things that are happening is going to lead to Floyd Mayweather leaving Al Haymon. Just following his career, Floyd Mayweather isn't afraid to cut-ties with anyone whether it be family or close associates. He's at the tail-end of his career and he keeps talking about his "legacy" in these last two editions of All Access.

I believe that Floyd Mayweather will finish his deal with Showtime, which I'm assuming will be Amir Khan in May 2015 and the winner of a Keith Thurman vs. Danny Garcia fight to face Mayweather in September 2015. After that I can see Mayweather moving back to HBO and setting up at least a clash with Manny Pacquiao.

At the end of the day, everything is looking extremely good with HBO. They'll be able Floyd Mayweather the best choices in opponents once his Showtime contract is expired. I think at that point Floyd Mayweather will officially leave Al Haymon and manage his own career from that point forward. I could see him signing a contract like Pacquiao that ends in 2016. So probably 3 or 4 more fights for Floyd.

As for actually speaking about the related topic. Bob Arum is paying the opposition much better than what Al Haymon is paying the opposition to fight his fighters. It's starting to look bad for Al Haymon and what he's been doing to the sport, I believe that's why we're about to see Haymon Boxing sign its deal with NBC Sports Group. He's about to be boxed-out from HBO & Showtime.
